True-crime podcaster Jake Brennan is bringing his podcasts “Disgraceland” and its celebrity spin-off “Hollywoodland” to Exactly Right Media (ERM), the podcast network behind hit show “My Favorite Murder” that is affiliated with iHeartMedia.

“Disgraceland” and “Hollywoodland” will continue to be produced by Brennan’s Double Elvis and executive produced by ERM and iHeartPodcasts. Under an agreement inked last year, iHeartMedia is the exclusive sales, marketing and distribution partner for ERM. Both “Disgraceland” and “Hollywoodland” were previously affiliated with Audacy.

Launched in 2018, “Disgraceland” is a weekly series in which Brennan explores the dark side of legendary artists like Amy Winehouse, Jerry Lee Lewis, the Grateful Dead and Blondie. According to iHeart, it’s “the most downloaded music podcast in the world.” Brennan also hosts “Hollywoodland,” which explores true crime and scandals involving the entertainment biz’s glitterati.

New episodes of “Disgraceland” drop each Tuesday (with additional listener-driven bonus episodes on Thursdays and curated “Rewind” releases from the show’s archive each Sunday). Episodes of “Hollywoodland” post on Mondays, with bonus episodes on Wednesdays and Fridays.

The first “Disgraceland” episode to hit the iHeartPodcasts network will be released Sunday, April 12 — and will take a look at Taylor Swift’s stalkers. Titled “Taylor Swift: Interstate Stalking, Vanishing Masters, and Love Letters Gone Wrong,” here is the episode description: Taylor Swift has a list of stalkers longer than her stadium tour setlists. One drove over 900 miles to hand-deliver his “love” letters to her record label. Others showed up at her home bearing rope, lock picks, and tools to break in. The threats on her life have become so persistent that her security team once installed facial recognition software at concert venues to distinguish her stalkers from her fans. While making some of the most recognizable pop songs in music history, Taylor Swift also became one of the most recognizable women in the celebrity sphere, a title that on many occasions has nearly cost her life.

Brennan said that “My Favorite Murder” was one of the podcasts that inspired him to create “Disgraceland.” He said after he launched tje show, he became friends with “My Favorite Murder” creators and host Karen Kilgariff and Georgia Hardstark and “there always seemed to be this unspoken shared willingness to work with each other at some point. That point in time is now, and I couldn’t be happier.”

“What they’ve built with the Exactly Right Network is truly inspiring, and there seems to be enormous crossover potential between fans of ‘My Favorite Murder’ and ‘Disgraceland,’” Brennan said in a statement. “Like Karen and Georgia, Murderinos have great taste in music, so this partnership makes perfect sense.”

Kilgariff, who is CEO of Exactly Right Media, said, “We are thrilled to welcome our old friend Jake Brennan to the Exactly Right network. We’ve always loved the incredible shows he makes and so does our audience, so it’s a match made in podcasting heaven.”

Will Pearson, president of iHeartPodcasts, added: “Jake Brennan is one of the most compelling storytellers in podcasting, and ‘Disgraceland’ and ‘Hollywoodland’ are true standouts in the industry. These shows draw listeners in with unforgettable narratives that keep them coming back week after week.”
