Xbox Game Pass has no shortage of free games at the moment, and the service just tossed another into the mix today. This time, it's a limited-time offer courtesy of Free Play Days, which makes games available for free in short bursts each weekend, typically from Thursday to Sunday.
Most Free Play Days are available to all Xbox users, regardless of whether they have an Xbox Game Pass subscription or not. This weekend, One Piece: Pirate Warriors 4, Project Motor Racing, and Graveyard Keeper will all be widely available, while one game is being reserved for Xbox Game Pass users.
Subnautica Is Free With Game Pass
Xbox Wire revealed that Subnautica will be a part of this weekend's Free Play Days for Xbox Game Pass users. Essential, Premium, and Ultimate subscribers will all be able to play the game from April 9 to April 12, essentially offering a time-limited free trial. Beating the game within that time period could be tough, as it tends to be a 30+ hour experience, but it's also on sale for $14.99 if you end up getting hooked.
For the uninitiated, Subnautica is an action survival game taking place in the ocean of an alien world. While it's not strictly a horror game, it can be a tense experience, especially for those afraid of the unknown lurking in the depths. Ever since its 2018 release, Subnautica has been an undeniable hit, racking up acclaim from critics and audiences alike.
Free Play Days This Weekend Includes Multiple Freebies
Aside from Subnautica, the biggest highlight of this weekend's Free Play Days is the offer on the table for Graveyard Keeper. Unlike the other titles, which can only be played for free until Sunday, Graveyard Keeper will be available to keep as long as you download it in time.
Since this one doesn't even require a subscription, there's no good reason not to take advantage of the promotion. The indie game combines the simulation aspects of games like Stardew Valley with a darker concept, focusing on the management of the titular graveyard.
One Piece: Pirate Warriors 4, meanwhile, is on sale for $9.99, while Project Motor Racing's discount only brings it down to $38.49. The former is a Warriors game about fighting huge waves of enemies, while the latter is a realistic racing sim. With a good mix of genres in play, this Free Play Days weekend should hopefully have something for everyone to enjoy, whether you have an Xbox Game Pass subscription or not.
