Titus Welliver's new crime series The Westies will premiere this summer.

Starring J.K. Simmons, Tom Brittney, Jessica Frances Dukes, and Welliver, The Westies follows New York City’s notoriously violent Irish gang of the same name. Set in the early 1980s, the series unfolds as construction of the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center on the Westies’ Hell’s Kitchen turf promises a major financial windfall. Though outnumbered fifty-to-one by the Italian Mafia’s Five Families, the Westies hold enough leverage to secure a share of the profits through a fragile détente.

MGM+ reveals The Westies will premiere on July 12. The news was announced along with a preview of what to expect, telling audiences: “This St. Patrick’s Day, get ready to meet a group of unforgettable Irishmen in this new crime series about NYC’s most feared gang. #TheWesties premieres July 12th on #MGMplus.” Also, check out the St. Patrick's Day-themed poster below:
