Leaks have revealed that the upcoming Genshin Impact 6.4 update will feature the return of a fan-favorite character in what may be an unexpected turn of events. HoYoverse’s popular action RPG is currently in the midst of one of its biggest patches this year, Version 6.3, which brings forth the yearly Lantern Rite Festival. The first half of the update saw the introduction of the very powerful Columbina in Genshin Impact.

Now, the game has entered Version 6.3’s Phase 2. However, some attention is already shifting toward the next update, thanks to the leaks that come from the ongoing beta tests. One of these leaks highlights that Capitano may make an appearance in Genshin Impact 6.4, according to a leak shared by user IS_Mythix on Reddit. As seen in the leak, the Fatui Harbinger will have a small participation in the patch.

According to the leak, Capitano will appear as an NPC during a cutscene in a side quest focused on Varka in Genshin Impact 6.4. The leak also says that Capitano’s participation is quite limited, as he should only appear for about three minutes during that quest. It’s unclear what the nature of Capitano’s participation will be; some users in the comment section of the Reddit post hope that Capitano will fight Varka, while others discuss that they could simply have a conversation.

Although it’s unclear what the possible interaction between the characters may look like, this will likely be a flashback, when Varka may have encountered Capitano – perhaps when their paths intersected in Natlan, or even in Snezhnaya. No other leaks have highlighted what the content will feature. However, considering Capitano’s known fate in the story, it’s unlikely anything new will happen with him for now.

Even with the odds against them, some fans still hold onto hope that, one day, HoYoverse will make him playable. Some believe that there is a chance for Capitano to be brought back from his current status in the game, especially considering the unique spiritual elements in Natlan.
