Dragon Ball Super, after years of relative silence regarding its TV anime, will officially return to screens in fall 2026. The series will take its third crack at the Battle of Gods saga, before presumably continuing with remakes of each arc, until getting into new content with the Galactic Patrol Prisoner Saga.
Also known to fans as the Moro arc, the anime's upcoming section became a smash-hit among manga readers throughout its two-year run, and eventually left those readers wondering when they would ever see the arc adapted to screens.
Today, that situation has flipped. As Dragon Ball fans await Moro's anime arrival, the Dragon Ball Super manga remains on its lengthy hiatus, and the latest update from V Jump suggests it's going to stay that way.
Dragon Ball Super's Latest Update Is a Disappointing One
The Latest Issue of V Jump Has Bad News for Dragon Ball Super Fans
V Jump, the monthly magazine which has housed Dragon Ball Super since its debut, released on February 21st and contained some major new information about the franchise's upcoming return. In particular, it outlined this fall's Dragon Ball Super: Beerus, the first phase of the Dragon Ball Super revival.
Fans have already seen much of the promotional material, though the section did specify the addition of several new cuts and scenes, giving viewers something to look forward to, regardless of how familiar they are with Beerus' introduction.

Here's When Dragon Ball Super: Galactic Patrol Will Make Its Anime Debut
A new chapter in the Dragon Ball saga is on the horizon, but when will it arrive?
As reported by X user bboykenlaw, a small block of text underneath the information section alerted fans that Dragon Ball Super's manga would remain on hiatus. Leaving aside the special one-shot chapter that released in February 2025, next month will mark two straight years since the series was placed on its indefinite break, and there aren't many signs suggesting a return might be imminent.
The short message offered no detail surrounding the length of the hiatus, nor did it reveal any sort of plan regarding the series' future. Fans of Dragon Ball Super will unfortunately remain in the dark as the anime's return quickly approaches. However, there is cause for optimism, even if just a little.
Dragon Ball Super continuing to hold onto its spot in V Jump is near confirmation that the series will return at some point, even if fans are left not knowing when that may be.
Dragon Ball Super Has Retained Its Spot in the V Jump Lineup
Custom Image by Zach ZamoraWhile the latest update will certainly be disappointing for fans of the series, the fact that Dragon Ball Super has retained its spot in the V Jump lineup should be taken as nothing less than a positive. In the manga world, titles are axed constantly, many before they're even able to establish much of a story. If there wasn't hope for its return, Dragon Ball Super would have been replaced long ago.
Just as there are no signs that a return may be coming soon, there are also no signs of cancellation. For now, fans will have to wait patiently for any future updates and information.
Dragon Ball Super will finally make its grand return this year, revisiting its prior arcs before moving on to exciting new stories. Though the manga may be shelved for quite some time moving forward, there will still be Dragon Ball to enjoy in some form or another.
