Ewan is Deputy Editor for ScreenRant's gaming section. He still quite hasn’t gotten out of his mid 00’s emo phase, and knows more about The Legend of Zelda and Doctor Who than is probably healthy.
Ewan oversees the content operation of ScreenRant's gaming output, working with a talented team of writers and editors to cover everything from the latest GTA 6 news to the indie games you need on your radar.
Former Editor of GAMINGbible, Ewan also has words at Kotaku, Den of Geek, NME, and UNILAD. He's appeared on various podcasts, including VGC's and BBC's Let's Talk About Tech.
Xbox just officially announced a batch of new free games that you can download and check out for a limited time. There's a little something for everyone, which is great to see, but you only have this weekend to decide which game deserves your time and attention.
Xbox's weekly Free Play Days event is particularly stacked this week, with no less than five games available from now until Sunday, March 15. Four of these games are available for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, Premium and Essential members, while the fifth requires no subscription at all.
Xbox Game Pass Subscribers Can Try These Four Games
From now until March 15, there are five games you can check out with Game Pass. To find the games, you can click on the Subscriptions tab in the Xbox Store and head down to the Free Play Days collection on your Xbox One or Xbox Series X|S. But what are the games? Let's take a look.
Killing Floor 3
A brutal first-person shooter, Killing Floor 3 just released a brand-new update that includes a new battlefield, a new boss, and plenty of other new features to try out. The game is also 40% off for a limited time.
Bassmaster Fishing
I'm not really sure what I can say about this one, other than it's a game where you fish. If you don't like fishing, you might not like this game. If you love fishing, you'll be foaming at the mouth, I'm sure.
Worms W.M.D
Classic Worms action, Worms W.M.D is the most recent game in the long-running series, and has lots of fun call-backs to the past. Well worth playing if you haven't enjoyed Worms in a while.
Tropico 6
If you're looking for an in-depth city builder that lets you unleash your inner dictator, Tropico 6 is definitely the game for you. If you enjoy the free trial, this game is also massively discounted.
Diablo 4
This one is a fun surprise. Diablo 4 is currently completely free to download and check out, and you don't need a Game Pass subscription to see what this one has to offer. The Diablo 4 free trial is available to everyone from now until March 18, so you've got even longer with this one than the others. Which, I admit, rather steals the thunder from the other games in the lineup. But what can you do?
If you've got an Xbox Game Pass subscription, be sure to take advantage of these free games while you can. It's also worth noting there are a ton of brand-new free RPGs that recently hit the service, so you won't be short of games to play.
