Warning: This article contains spoilers from Black Clover manga.With Black Clover's fully in the middle of its super climax, the battle between the mages and the Paladins has reached new heights in the manga's final arc.
Previously, the story focused on the magic attributes honed by individual characters. However, with the introduction of new alliances and abilities, each of Black Clover's characters has gone through major transformations, altogether shaking up the hierarchy within the series.
Below are the top ten strongest Black Clover characters as they stand in the final arc, ranked not only by their strength but also by their abilities and impact on the series.
10 Ichika Yami
Ichika Yami is one of the Ryuzen Seven of the Hino Country and the younger sister of Yami Sukehiro. This means that, similar to her brother, she is a descendant of the former Yami Clan and can use Dark Magic.
Not to forget, similar to the other Ryuzen Seven, she can also use Zetten to manipulate her Ki.
However, Ichika Yami's abilities don't stop just there, as besides being a master swordsman and possessing enhanced strength and speed, she also has an ability called Dark Cloaked Black Warrior, a transformation that manifests a samurai armor clad in Dark Magic. Using this ability, she can tap into her other strong spells, such as Black Star and Black Crescent Moon.
9 Noelle Silva
Noelle Silva from the Black Bulls is known to be one of the characters with the most latent potential. While she previously had trouble controlling her mana, she has slowly grown into one of the strongest characters in the series. As part of this, she can also manifest a Valkyrie Dress like her mother, Acier Silva.
Not to forget, during the series, Noelle also mastered the Heart Kingdom's magic technique "True Magic."
Previously, Noelle had formed a temporary contract with the Water Spirit Undine to rescue Lolopechka. However, after the Water Spirit returned to the Heart Kingdom, Noelle formed a contract with the Seabed Temple's "Sea God" Leviathan.
This not only allowed her to manifest her new Valkyrie Dress "Dragon Form," but also allowed her to tap into Leviathan's powers.
8 Moris Libardirt
Moris Libardirt was once a Magic Scholar from the Diamond Kingdom who was forced out of the country for his treachery. Soon after he was exiled, Moris started working for the Dark Triad of the Spade Kingdom.
During the events of the Spade Kingdom Raid Arc, Moris became a host of the devil Lucifero and honed dual mana attributes, his own Modification Magic and Lucifero's Gravity Magic.
Unfortunately, after Lucifero was defeated, Moris lost the powers and was left crippled. To his fortune, Lucius Zogratis rescued him and recreated his body. However, not long after, Lucius turned him into one of his Paladins, making him the host to an incarnated and purified devil.
The paladin form granted Moris with incredible magic power, a near immortal body, and access to the devil's Earth Magic, again making him a dual mana attribute user.
7 Acier Silva
Acier Silva was once the captain of the Silver Eagle Squad of the Clover Kingdom's Magic Knights. She possessed such an immense amount of magic power that, despite her Steel Magic having an elemental disadvantage against Fire Magic, she remained undefeated against Mereoleona Vermillion during their countless fights.
Unfortunately, she fell victim to Megicula's curse even before the series began.
However, the series did bring her back as one of Lucius's Paladins. As a Paladin, Acier became a host to an incarnated and purified devil, giving her Water Magic as well. As a result, Acier became a dual mana attribute user, obtained incredible magic power, and now has a near-immortal body.
6 Morgen Faust
Morgen Faust was once a member of the Grey Deer Squad of the Clover Kingdom's Magic Knights. Unfortunately, he passed away even before the series began while stopping his twin brother, Nacht Faus,t from summoning one of the highest-ranking devils, Lucifugus.
To his misfortune, Lucius Zogratis later resurrected him and turned him into a Paladin, hosting the same devil that caused his demise.
As a host to Lucifugus, Morgen was granted incredible magic powers, a near-immortal body, and access to the devil's Dark Magic. Surprisingly, unlike the other Paladins, Morgen's original magic attribute, Light Magic, and the devil's Dark Magic, were highly compatible, making him the strongest Paladin after Lucius Zogratis himself.
5 Mereoleona Vermillion
As Black Clover fans will know, Mereoleona Vermillion has been one of the strongest characters in the series for a very long time. As the first daughter of House Vermillion, she possesses Fire Magic like her brothers Fuegeleon and Leopold. However, unlike them, Mereoleona is more of a fighter than a magic user, honing immense strength, speed, and endurance.
As time passed, Mereoleona became even stronger after learning Mana Zone and the Elves' Ultimate Magic. With that, she created her own spell called the Hellfire Incarnate. This allowed her to fully embody her Fire Magic and defeat both Paladin Moris and Acier. Mereoleona's win against Acier was notably special as she had never won against her in the past.
However, she had now emerged victorious despite Acier possessing the Paladin buffs and the devil's Water Magic, an elemental disadvantage to her Fire Magic.
4 Yami Sukehiro
Being a descendant of the Yami Clan, Yami Sukehiro, like his sister Ichika Yami, is a Dark Magic user. Considering how rare the attribute is, this also saw him get ranked as an Arcane Stage mage.
If that wasn't enough, the Black Bull captain is also a master swordsman who possesses enhanced strength, reflexes, speed, immense durability, and magic power. Not to forget, he can also use Ki and Mana Zone.

Besides this, during Judgment Day, Yami Sukehiro manifested his Kijin transformation by eating his clan's Kikongan medicine. Not long after, Adramelech approached him with a special offer. Apparently, after being a sacrifice for the Qliphoth Advent Ritual, the Black Bull captain's body structure had changed, making him an ideal devil host.
Thus, when Adramelech proposed to join hands with Yami Sukehiro, the Black Bull captain accepted the offer. This union saw the devil grant Yami with immense power and access to his Light Magic. This move saw the Black Bull captain defeat Paladin Morgen Faust instantly.
3 Asta
While Asta has no magic, he wields the five-leaf grimoire, connecting him to Liebe, who possesses Anti-Magic. Unlike other characters in the series who use Magic to fight, Asta uses Anti-Magic swords to negate his opponent's magic. Not to mention, with training, he has also become an expert swordsman and possesses enhanced strength, speed, durability, and instinct. Not to forget, he also learned how to use Zetten.
As for his Anti-Magic powers, the more Asta draws from the powers, the more devil-like his appearance becomes. While this was the status quo for a good portion of the series, Asta later forms an equal contract with Liebe, allowing him to share powers as equals and obtain the Devil Union form.
While earlier Asta could only use the form for 5 minutes, he has now extended the duration to 10 minutes.
Normally, considering Lucius's persistence at removing Asta from the battlefield, one might consider Asta the stronger Magic Knight between him and Yuno. Unfortunately, up until now, the protagonist has failed to make a huge impact in the fight, causing him to fall behind his rival.
2 Yuno Grinberryall
Yuno Grinberryall has to be one of the strongest characters in Black Clover. Being a Magic Knight, he not only possesses a four-leaf grimoire granting him Wind Magic, but he later also formed a contract with the Wind Spirit, Sylph. Not to mention, after having spent enough time with the spirit, Yuno attained Spirit Dive and later also reached the Saint Stage.
While such attributes already make him an overpowered character, Yuno also possesses Star Magic, thanks to his Spade Kingdom origin. As such, Yuno became the only character in the series to showcase dual mana attributes without being affiliated with a devil.
To make things worse for his opponents, the deuteragonist later also learns to use Union Magic. He used the ability to combine his Star Magic with Sylph's Wind Spirit Magic.
While, of course, Yuno is an overpowered character, what ranks him higher than Asta is his immense mana and endurance. In case fans haven't noticed, Yuno has been fighting Lucius non-stop since chapter 355.
During this period, he not only defeated multiple Lucius but also assisted his fellow Magic Knights by using his Never-Neverland spell. Hence, there should be no dispute that, as it stands, Yuno ranks higher than Asta.
1 Lucius Zogratis
Considering Lucius Zogratis is the final antagonist of Black Clover, it is not surprising that he is the strongest character in the series. While he already possessed Soul Magic, being a devil host to Astaroth, he also possesses Time Magic. However, he did not stop at that, as later he consumed Lucifero's heart to acquire Gravity Magic and assimilated his siblings' magic attributes into himself, acquiring Body, Blood, and Bone Magic.
Using these attributes, Lucius resurrected several key figures from the past and turned them into Paladins just like himself. However, just as it seemed like the antagonist had reached his peak strength, Lucius Zogratis went a step further by transforming himself into the "Magic Great Emperor."
This transformation not only saw Lucius becoming stronger and faster, but also saw him using additional magic attributes, such as Lightning, Fire, Ice, Water, Chain, etc. As such, as it stands, even though Asta and Yuno have been pushing Lucius back in the manga, he still remains as the strongest character in the series.
