EXCLUSIVE: The team behind shark thriller Zipline, which is being launched in the market this Cannes by Black Bear Pictures, is reuniting on another survival drama entitled No Way Down.
Producer Addam Bramich has announced that the high-concept survival thriller will begin principal photography in the fourth quarter of 2026, with many of the core Zipline creative team attached.
Norwegian director Magnus Martens (SAS: Red Notice, Fear the Walking Dead), writer George Mahaffey Jr. (Chief of Station, Ice Fall) are on board as is cinematographer Nick Matthews (Last Breath, ISS, Hotel Mumbai), having previously taking credits on Zipline.
Plot details are being kept under wraps for now.
“We had something genuinely special with the team we assembled on Zipline,” said Bramich. “Magnus, George, and Nick are amongst the most talented collaborators we’ve worked with. When the right material came along, bringing them back together was an easy decision.”
“This is a story that demands to be told at scale — on screen and in cinemas,” Bramich added. “We’re excited to bring audiences something that genuinely gets under their skin.”
Further casting and financing announcements are expected in the coming months.
Starring Ioan Gruffudd, Ross Butler, Holland Roden and Sonia Ammar, Zipline has recently completed post-production and is being screened in the market in Cannes to international buyers. There’s no word yet on whether any of the Zipline cast will be signing for the new film.
