Absolute Joker's Terrifying Video Game Debut Officially Announced

The Absolute Batman comics run from Scott Snyder and Nick Dragotta is fantastic, which probably explains why it's selling so well. And it also explains why DC is perhaps eager to have releases from Absolute Batman outside the comics. One of the cool things about the Absolute Universe is seeing iconic Batman villains with new designs or backstories. Now, about a day after getting our first glimpse at Absolute Clayface, it looks like Absolute Joker will be making his video game debut.

This version of Joker is truly terrifying. Without delving too far into Absolute Batman spoilers, Absolute Joker has a monster form. He turns into this form, stalking his enemies as prey before eventually eating them. It's a strange and truly horrifying take on Batman's most famous villain, and it looks like fans will soon be able to see Absolute Joker in a video game.

As noted over on X by Chris Anton, characters and gear from the Absolute Universe has been making its way to DC Universe Online, the free-to-play MMO that is actually pretty great. In addition to Absolute Catwoman cosmetics, the game has also gotten Absolute Joker. You can see the full post above, along with the image of Absolute Joker in-game.

Both will arrive in DC Universe Online on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, along with a new DCOU update. Absolute Joker and Absolute Catwoman will be the latest in a line of recent releases from the Absolute Universe into DC Universe Online. There's no denying the Absolute Universe is popular, and Absolute Batman in particular is pretty astounding. So, it's not really a surprise we're seeing cosmetics and characters from these comics starting to appear in video games. Most recently, the Absolute Batman suit in LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight is an obtainable costume.

If you haven't given the comics a try, then you should. They're pretty dark, even by the Dark Knight's standards, but they have some truly excellent storytelling and interesting character development. Absolute Batman is pretty incredible, so it's great to see characters and suits starting to cross over into video games so much lately. Absolute Joker will make his debut in DC Universe Online next Tuesday.
