Bear Grylls shares loved-up snap with rarely-seen wife and son as he celebrates milestone anniversary ahead of his new survival show

Bear Grylls gave fans a rare glimpse into his private life as he celebrated a milestone anniversary with his wife and son.

The adventurer, 50, took to Instagram on Wednesday to share a heartfelt snap of his wife Shara, marking their 25 years of marriage - just ahead of his new Netflix show, Celebrity Bear Hunt.

He also paid tribute to his son, Huckleberry, who turned 16 on the same day.

The star captioned the post: '25 years wedding anniversary today!!! Wow. Where did that time go? We got married so young but it was the best thing I ever did. 

'Shara you are still the kindest most true woman I know, thank you for being such a light for all of us in the family.

'And Huckleberry 16 today too… happy birthday Huckles! Humble, kind, smart, determined and only just beginning! Keep the love and power of the Almighty centre of your heart always.

'You're an unstoppable young man and such an amazing brother to Jesse and Marmaduke. We love you!'

Shara and Bear met in Scotland, two months before Bear became the youngest Brit to ever climb Mount Everest on May 16 1998, at 23 years old.

Since then, they have built a family together, welcoming three sons: Jesse in 2003, Marmaduke in 2006, and Huckleberry in 2009. 

Elsewhere, Bear's new Netflix show is set to land on the box next month and the star-studded lineup has now been confirmed.

Holly Willoughby, 43, will be swapping her glamorous red carpet ensembles for a pair of camouflage hot pants and hiking boots as she prepares to host the action-packed show in Costa Rica alongside adventurer Bear.

According to Netflix, the competition show, which is set to launch on the streaming service on February 5, sees a group of unlikely celebrities get dropped into the Central American jungle as prey for one of the world's most fearsome predators – Bear.

Now show bosses have pulled out all the stops with their latest line-up which features Spice Girl Mel B, Strictly judge Shirley Ballas, model Lottie Moss and more.

Bear believes there’s an action hero inside us all - even the celebrities - but how strong is their will to survive?

As Bear puts them through their paces, those who fail to impress will face the dreaded 'Bear Hunt' – a brutal game of cat and mouse where they’ll be hunted down by Bear himself and, if captured, face elimination from the show.

Now, it has been reported that tensions reached fever pitch among the celebrity cast.

A source told The Sun: 'There were some big personalities there and naturally, tensions started to brew.

'Tempers started to fray and people didn't hold back.

'Things got so bad one night that the big bosses called an emergency meeting to remind the celebs that this was supposed to be a family friendly show.

'This really didn't go down well with the stars, including Danny Cipriani – the last thing he wanted was to be on a show like Big Brother, which is full of rows and drama.'
