A24 has unleashed a new trailer for Onslaught.

The new trailer for the action sci-fi thriller has been released, revealing additional details about the high-octane movie. The new film from director Adam Wingard and writer Simon Barrett follows Celeste (Adria Arjona), a mother living in a trailer park whose life is upended when a group of super soldiers begin going on a rampage against civilians. The action movie also stars Alex Pereira, Dan Stevens, Eric Wareheim, Reginald VelJohnson, Michael Biehn, Drew Starkey, Rebecca Hall, and Maurice Greene. The movie arrives in theaters on September 4, 2026.

Now, A24 has released a new trailer for Onslaught, revealing just how action-packed Wingard's new movie is going to be. The trailer details how three soldiers codenamed Crybaby, Cockroach, and the Butcher were transformed into super weapons, the equivalent of "heat-seeking missiles" that always aim to kill. After their escape, they end up killing everyone in their path, eventually finding their way to Celeste's trailer park home. Armed with an arsenal of weapons, she fights against the super soldiers to protect her daughter.

The new trailer also features a glimpse of a mad scientist, seemingly played by Dan Stevens, whose experiments are the reason the soldiers wind up escaping. The trailer also signals just how violent the movie is going to get, with Celeste losing her eye early into the conflict, forced to wear a makeshift eyepatch for a considerable amount of time. Flashes of fighting show her not only using guns, but other weapons, like a chainsaw, to combat the soldiers and keep her daughter safe, even as they slaughter her friends and neighbors.

Onslaught is Wingard's first original movie since 2014's The Guest, which also had military themes through Stevens' soldier character. Since then, he's directed Blair Witch, Death Note, and the last two Monsterverse movies, Godzilla vs. Kong and Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire. This film promises to go back to his roots as an action director, with a self-contained story that builds tension through its character focus. However, it'll also have plenty of wild moments, too, as teased by the mad scientist character and the super soldiers' merciless rage.

The action movie promises to be aligned with themes and ideas present in Wingard's older movies, but with a much heavier focus on the action. It's unclear if the movie will only take place in Celeste's trailer park, or if there will be a wider focus as more events unfold. There's going to be plenty of action in her town as the super soldiers arrive, while more plot will be taking place in the facility where they were created. Just how intrinsic they'll be to Celeste's mission of protecting her daughter remains to be seen.

With the movie a little over a month away from coming to theaters, Onslaught's latest trailer emphasizes just how high the bar will be for the action the film entails. As the movie continues to provide updates about its story, more is bound to be unveiled about the super soldiers, their escape, and just how well Celeste can defend what she loves the most from their violence.
