2026 is a huge year for The Legend of Zelda, with the legendary franchise celebrating 40 years of making memories with players the world over. As part of that, fans are expecting some pretty major announcements to mark the occasion, and they might not be disappointed by the time the year is out.

The upcoming movie adaptation continues production, with more news on that likely to arrive in the coming months. At the same time, the rumors of an upcoming Ocarina of Time remake were given further credence by the fact that the individual who leaked the news also claimed Star Fox was on the way at the same time, with the latter recently being confirmed by Nintendo.

In the meantime, the recent games are still a great way to while away a few hours, and there's a nice little downloadable item on the way in the coming months.

Over on Twitter/X, the official page for Nintendo of America shared an update confirming that some downloadable content is on the way for Tears of the Kingdom.

"The Mineru’s Construct amiibo arrives Sept. 17! This amiibo features articulated arms that you can pose. Tap it in-game in The Legend of #Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom to receive a unique design for Link’s paraglider," the post reads.

Those of you who have played the game will know that Mineru's Construct serves as the fifth sage in Tears of the Kingdom, with Link able to ride it as a fully customizable mech that can be equipped with some pretty potent weapons. Players have got up to all sorts with the construct over the years, and to have a matching design with your paraglider is actually pretty cool.

Nintendo didn't go as far as confirming what the price is going to be, but other, similar amiibos are usually sitting at a pretty steep $30. The comments were filled with players that were pretty pleased with what's coming, with one saying, "I honestly thought you guys just forgot about it. Glad it's finally coming out."

While another added, "I've been asking them to make an amiibo for this character since I unlocked it to use in the game. I'm also still playing Tears of the Kingdom like millions of other people. So I wouldn't be surprised if a lot more people besides me asked for this amiibo as well."

We are likely a little further away from an official announcement for the next mainline game in the series, with Zelda still yet to debut a Switch 2-only release at the time of writing. If Ocarina of Time does turn out to be true, though, we'll have plenty to do while we wait.
