Jon Hamm's celebrated new Apple TV crime thriller series is a 10/10 weekend binge ahead of its season 2 premiere next month. Hamm, best known for his roles in various acclaimed series like Mad Men, Fargo, Landman, and The Morning Show, stars in this celebrated crime series that earned an 82% Rotten Tomatoes audience score and has already been renewed for season 3.

Hamm is widely recognized as one of TV's most iconic leading actors and a winner of an Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series for the pivotal anti-hero Donald Draper. It's worth noting that he has also received an additional 17 Emmy nominations for his wide variety of TV roles, including 30 Rock and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. While he hasn't been nominated for this 2025 Apple TV series, it's still one of the best weekend binges viewers can watch on Apple TV before season 2 debuts on April 3.

Your Friends & Neighbors Is A Great Length For A Weekend Binge

Your Friends & Neighbors is a great length for a weekend binge-watch on Apple TV, consisting of just nine episodes in its first season. Each episode ranges from 48 to 62 minutes, making it ideal to watch in a few sittings, as opposed to an ambitious one-night binge. Your Friends & Neighbors was a streaming hit for Apple TV last year and received one Emmy nomination for Original Main Title Theme.

It's clear that Apple TV is investing big in Your Friends & Neighbors, even though it wasn't an overwhelming streaming sensation like some of its other top new shows, such as The Studio and Severance. That said, Hamm has proven time and time again that he is one of the most reliable actors working today, and has been for nearly two decades now, ensuring the show's legacy for at least three seasons.

Your Friends & Neighbors has some other great attachments outside of Hamm's star power alone that make it a must-watch crime thriller series. Series creator Jonathan Tropper is best known for his work on acclaimed series like Warrior, See, and Banshee. He also just wrote the screenplay for Prime Video's recent buddy comedy The Wrecking Crew. Additonally, Hamm leads an ensemble cast that also includes Olivia Munn, Amanda Peet, Hoon Lee, Mark Tallman, and more.

There couldn't be a better time to watch, or re-watch, Your Friends & Neighbors on Apple TV than right now ahead of its season 2 premiere, which drops in less than two weeks. Your Friends & Neighbors follows Hamm's protagonist, Andrew Cooper, a hedge fund manager who resorts to burglary after losing his high-paying job. In order to keep up appearances in his wealthy neighborhood, he stays financially afloat by targeting them specifically, stealing their prized possessions to maintain his family's luxurious and expensive lifestyle.

Andrew's, or "Coop," scheme seems to be working well for his clueless and unassuming neighbors at first. That is, until he breaks into the wrong person's home in Westmont Village, which ends up placing him in grave danger that is far worse than he could have imagined. Hamm is undoubtedly the shining star in Your Friends & Neighbors, thanks to his natural magnetism and signature charm, but the underlying crime elements make this series stand out from most Apple TV shows.

One of the main reasons why Your Friends & Neighbors is worth binge-watching on Apple TV right now, other than Hamm's star power and its imminent season 2 premiere, is its strong themes about the innate emptiness of what appears to be the American Dream. Coop realizes that many of the things he owns and people he interacts with all contribute to one massive facade of wealth and meaning, when really, it represents a tragic hollowness that only allows for a cushioned, polished, and disingenuous existence. If you appreciate crime thrillers that also provide some food for thought, Your Friends & Neighbors is a must-binge this weekend.
