Xbox Game Showcase 2026 dates and Gears of War Direct confirmed by Xbox

New Xbox showcase follows Summer Game Fest kickoff

Microsoft will hold its annual Xbox Games Showcase on Sunday, June 7, the company announced Monday. The Xbox showcase promises "first gameplay looks and huge news on upcoming titles" from Xbox Game Studios and third-party partners, "from the biggest franchises to soon-to-be indie darlings." That event will be followed by a deep dive into Gears of War: E-Day, the new Gears game from The Coalition.

Xbox Game Studios has some big 2026 games that will likely show up at June's showcase, including Playground Games' new Fable, Mojang's Minecraft Dungeons 2, and Halo Studios' Halo: Campaign Evolved. Microsoft also owns Zenimax Media's Bethesda Softworks and Activision Blizzard, so there's a high likelihood that the next Call of Duty and updates on Blizzard Entertainment's lineup of games will also get some attention. As for an update on The Elder Scrolls 6? Maybe, but don't count on it.

The showcase will also be the first under new CEO of Microsoft Gaming Asha Sharma, who took over for now-retired Xbox boss Phil Spencer in February. Sharma and new Xbox chief content officer Matt Booty will probably have something new to say about the next-gen Xbox, code-named Project Helix, at Xbox Games Showcase 2026.

The Xbox Games Showcase 2026 will stream live on Xbox's YouTube, Twitch, and Facebook channels on the following dates and times:

• PDT: June 7, 10 a.m.
• EDT: June 7, 1 p.m.
• BST: June 7, 6 p.m.
• CEST: June 7, 7 p.m.
• JST: June 8, 2 a.m.
• AEST: June 8, 3 a.m.

After the main showcase, Xbox's Gears of War: E-Day Direct promises to take Gears fans "into the start of Emergence Day, offering new details, gameplay and insights about the hugely anticipated origin story to the Gears of War saga." Maybe we'll even get an update on that long-awaited Gears of War movie. Gears of War: E-Day was announced at 2024's Xbox Games Showcase.

Finally, 2026's Xbox Games Showcase will bring back Xbox Fanfest in Los Angeles. This year's iteration of the fan-focused event will "look back at the last 25 years, alongside a forward view of what’s next," Microsoft says.
