Xbox Game Pass is always getting new titles, but there's an open-world RPG that many users are urging everyone to check out. It's one of the most immersive games to ever release, and it thankfully became a part of February 2026's offerings on Game Pass. That's probably why so many members are recommending it right now.

Over on Reddit, a user named Kiidkxxl sang the open-world RPG's praises: "It was just added to Game Pass, and I beg you to try it," they wrote. "If you have before and hated it... I ask you to try it again." Naturally, other folks were quick to weigh in about one of the newset free games on Game Pass.

Xbox Game Pass' New Open-World RPG Is A Hit

Kingdom Come: Deliverance was finally added to Game Pass in February, and after KCD2 brought in an even larger audience, there's likely more people eager to check out the first entry now. And it seems like Game Pass members are discovering (or rediscovering) it now that it's free to them.

"KCD is a game I owned 7-8+ years ago because a friend told me how great it was. When I first played it… I hated it. Played about 2 hours and shelved it," the original post reads. "Years later, I decided to pick it up and give the ol college try. And pushed past the start, which admittedly can feel a little slow… and my god. Did I fall in love with what the game was."

Others were quick to agree on how awesome Kingdom Come: Deliverance is, but many comments were quick to point out how slow the game starts off — and how punishing the gameplay can feel. "I can see what people like it, but I just found the start so... boring," wrote one user.

Kingdom Come Deliverance Is Worth Sticking With

It seems that even those who love Kingdom Come: Deliverance can agree you've got to stick with it for the payoff. Still, there are plenty of people in the comments who can recognize it's a good game, but don't want to necessarily play it: "Like Elden Ring, it deserves the praise and awards — but it just wasn’t for me after multiple tries," reads the top comment.

And then there are the various comments where people seem to actively dislike KCD, citing its slow start, lockpicking mechanic, and combat as major detractors. I can see those complaints for sure, but I do agree it's a game that's worth sticking with if you enjoy RPGs of this nature.

Even though it's not for everyone, at least the original poster is urging everyone to give Kingdom Come: Deliverance a shot. Since it's free on Xbox Game Pass to subscribers, it's an ideal time to try it. You can see if it's the right kind of RPG for you, totally for free.
