Xbox’s Free Play Days runs this weekend between Thursday, January 29, and Sunday, February 1, with the following four games available to check out for free: Fallout 76, For Honor, Dead by Daylight, and Grounded 2. Plus, two of these games are lucky enough to have their availability periods extended as part of Xbox’s Free Play Days.
Per Xbox Wire, there will be no Xbox Game Pass subscription required to partake in the Free Play Days festivities this weekend. These games and their various editions can be purchased at a “limited time discount,” too, while “keeping your Gamerscore and achievements earned during the event!”
Fallout 76 & More Are Free This Weekend
Fallout 76, For Honor, Dead by Daylight, and Grounded 2 are all terrific games in this weekend’s Xbox Free Play Days. Likewise, with Free Play Days not requiring a Game Pass subscription, it makes for a wonderful treat that players can enjoy and decide for themselves thereafter if they’d like to purchase the games they’ve been able to try out.
Fallout 76 is a multiplayer-centered outing for the iconic post-apocalyptic franchise Fallout, whose television adaptation is currently in the middle of airing its second season on Amazon Prime Video. A DLC update called Burning Springs has delivered content from the live-action show, such as Walton Goggins’ Ghoul, to Fallout 76.
For Honor is a thrilling and unique multiplayer battle arena action game, featuring intense duels between diverse, archetypal warriors representing different factions. Dead by Daylight is an asymmetrical multiplayer horror game that unleashes a horde of licensed horror IPs, with the latest being a second DLC chapter inspired by Netflix’s Stranger Things.
Last but not least, Grounded 2 has been out in early access for less than six months. Grounded 2 is a great solo and/or co-op survival game with a charming hook and the most notably endearing take on an Arachnophobia mode in games to date.
Spend Even More Time With Two Of These
If the weekend seems like too short a time constraint, there’s no need to fret. Thankfully, Fallout 76 and For Honor will stay unlocked until February 5, meaning players get until Thursday with them. Conveniently, this ensures that players have access to Fallout 76 all the way up until Fallout’s Season 2 finale.
Therefore, players should perhaps prioritize Dead by Daylight and Grounded 2 this weekend since they won’t be unlocked for as long. Still, it’s possible that players could find themselves wholly engrossed in any one of these four games and spend the entire time available with it alone, as Fallout 76, For Honor, Dead by Daylight, and Grounded 2 all boast dozens of hours of content and rich multiplayer/co-op experiences on Xbox.
