Warframe: 1999 Goes Hard On The Nostalgia

The Expansion Explores The "What If" Of Y2K

Warframe: 1999 will bring a new adventure to the Warframe universe, adding new ways to enjoy the game and new lore to uncover. But the title promises to deliver one additional thing in spades: nostalgia.

"Our venture into the ‘what if’ Y2K scenario of 1999 has been a passion project for so many of us," says Ford. This means adding plenty of Easter eggs for older players who were around to witness the turn of the century. The team has given special attention to the 90s kids, with Ford adding that she's "excited for all the ‘90s kids to find all the references we’ve baked in." The countdown to Y2K begins all over again tomorrow, December 13, when Warframe: 1999 is released.
