A trustee of a hospital-based cancer charity supported by Kate Middleton and Prince William has resigned. Messages between Jeffrey Epstein and her were recently made public, prompting her decision.

According to the Sunday Guardian, Countess Nicole Junkermann resigned from her role at the Royal Marsden Charity. Per People, the Royal Marsden is the same hospital that treated Kate Middleton during her cancer battle in 2024. The outlet notes that the charity also has longstanding links with Prince William.

The Sunday Guardian notes that Junkermann has also stepped down from her role as a visiting professor at Lancaster University. Newly released Epstein files reportedly revealed extensive exchanges between the pair.

The new information released by the Department of Justice reportedly shows thousands of pages of emails between the Countess and Epstein. Those messages were allegedly sent over almost two decades, including some after Epstein's conviction in 2008.

Per the Sunday Guardian, Junkermann addressed Epstein affectionately in one email. The outlet reports that she allegedly sent him an email in 2010 titled "Will you have a baby with me?" The Sunday Guardian cites reporters who have examined the files. Junkermann reportedly appears in the records hundreds, if not thousands, of times.

Junkermann's spokesperson has allegedly issued a statement which states the countess was "completely deceived and misled by him, and deeply regrets their conversations regarding personal and professional matters."

According to People, The Royal Marsden Charity said in a statement, "In view of the ongoing media interest and her wish to support the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity, Nicole Junkermann has offered her resignation as Trustee, which has been accepted." Per the Sunday Guardian, the leadership at Lancashire University emphasized its commitment to integrity and values. It also reportedly noted that being named in the files does not immediately imply wrongdoing.

The release of the Epstein files has had a widespread effect across multiple industries. Last week, Chappell Roan explained on social media that she had left the Wasserman Agency. The Pink Pony Club singer revealed the news after Casey Wasserman, the agency's founder, was named in the files.

Pro skateboarder Tony Hawk reportedly appeared three times in the same files. Two of those mentions were allegedly about the 2010 Tony Hawk: Shred video game. Hawk slammed rumors that he got married on Epstein Island by posting details about his previous weddings. He noted the photographer at his wedding in Fiji was coincidentally named Mark Epstein. He then apologized that his wedding arrangements "don't fit a narrative of nonsense."
