Tony Hawk is a legendary skateboarder and a household name even outside of skateboarding circles. He recently posted an Instagram Story to address claims that one of his weddings took place on Epstein's Island.

The skater icon took to social media to quash speculation that he married on the infamous island. He also explained why the rumor started in the first place. Hawk posted about the situation in an Instagram Story, a temporary post that lasts only 24 hours. The pro skater apologizes that his wedding arrangements "don't fit a narrative of nonsense."

"Here are the facts and timelines of my nuptials," Hawk explains. He reveals his first marriage was in 1990 in Fallbrook, California. His subsequent marriages were in 1996 at the Hilton Hotel in San Diego and in 2006 in Fiji. Hawk tied the knot with Catherine Goodman in 2015, and they have been together ever since. The Instagram Story notes that they married at Adare Manor in Ireland.

As for how the Epstein rumors started, the 57-year-old claimed, "One of the guests in 2006 shot photos of the Fiji ceremony and licensed them to Getty Images." He continued, "His name is (coincidentally) Mark Epstein."

The post explains that this Mark Epstein is "An accomplished Action Sports Photographer from Wyoming and of no relation to Jeffrey Epstein (who I never met and whose island I never visited." Hawk concludes, "This is all easily verifiable information. Facts are not fungible." He also apologized to Mark for getting "pulled into the misinformation vortex."

A report by the New York Post includes several pictures by Mark Epstein on Getty Images. Those photos show Tony Hawk and Lhotse Merriam reading their vows and cutting the wedding cake alongside images of attending guests.

The outlet also claims that Hawk's name did, in fact, appear three times in the Epstein files released last week. Two of those mentions were reportedly tied to the 'Tony Hawk: Shred' video game, which was released on the PS3, Nintendo Wii, and Xbox 360 in 2010. According to the Daily Mail, the third mention is from an alleged victim of Epstein's. She reportedly claimed she was on the island when Prince Andrew was there and 'when Tony Hawk got married on the island.'

Per the Daily Mail, Tony Hawk is widely regarded as the greatest skateboarder in history. According to an archive from the New York Times in 1999, Hawk became the first skateboarder to land a "900." It's a trick in which the rider completes 2.5 rotations in a single jump. The outlet called it the sports equivalent of running a four-minute mile.
