Andy Behbakht has worked as an entertainment journalist since 2010, covering all the latest in Hollywood on both the big and small screens, from staying on top of the biggest breaking news, analyzing movies and television shows in Hollywood, to in-depth interviews with actors and storytellers.

Andy's career includes having worked for publications such as FanSided, KSiteTV, TV Fanatic, It's Just Movies, Heroic Hollywood, TV Overmind, and more. Outside of his career as an established reporter, Andy is the host and producer of The Showrunner Whisperer, The Flash Podcast, the editor-in-chief of Multiverse of Color, and the network director of DC TV Podcasts.

2026 is honoring one of the hidden gems from Tom Hardy after almost a decade.

Throughout Hardy's many roles in his movie and TV career, the beloved British actor has brought many roles to life through established IPs like Marvel's Venom, as well as creating original content on the big and small screens. While the star is staying busy, one of Hardy's underappreciated projects is now finding new success in 2026.

The Taboo TV show, which premiered nearly a decade ago, is now making a comeback on the streaming charts. The crime thriller has climbed up to #8 on Apple TV's global VOD chart, as it is sitting at #4 in Australia while holding the #7 spot in Canada on the digital service.

Hardy, who starred as James Keziah Delaney, did more than just headline the series, as he also co-created Taboo with his father, Chris Hardy, and Peaky Blinders' Steven Knight. The FX series also featured Jessie Buckley as Lorna Delaney, Oona Chaplin as Zilpha Geary, Leo Bill as Benjamin Wilton, Stephen Graham as Atticus, Michael Kelly as Edgar Dumbarton, Tom Hollander as George Cholmondeley, Jonathan Pryce as Sir Stuart Strange, and Mark Gatiss as Prince George.

This is just one of Knight's TV shows that Hardy worked on, as they had collaborated on Peaky Blinders years prior. The Taboo drama also starred David Hayman, Jefferson Hall, Edward Hogg, and Franka Potente in season 1, which consists of eight episodes.

To this day, the Taboo series is still holding an impressive critical reception with audience members and members of the press. At the time of this story's publication, the 2017 show has 76% on Rotten Tomatoes, while holding a 91% rating on the Popcornmeter.

While it only ran for a single season, many see Hardy's Taboo role as one of his best performances, and with its new streaming success, the BBC drama will now get more eyeballs on it, and ideally, additional appreciation after several years. His work in the show led Hardy to being nominated for Best Actor in a Drama/Genre Series at the Satellite Awards.

Even though it has not been on the air since 2017, Taboo season 2 is actually officially happening, but there is a massive catch to it. While being renewed for another season, no updates have been shared about when they intend to release it, since they haven't started filming, but are seemingly developing it.
