Microsoft has made two Xbox games completely free for everyone for just one weekend. The Xbox Game Pass has hundreds of games for fans to play in full for free, but these require subscription passes. Every month, more games and day-one releases are added to the free games catalog for subscribers of different tiers to play for no additional cost.

If that weren't enough, Microsoft is running its Free Play Days program, which gives fans access to even more games every weekend, for a limited time. Non-subscribers won't be left out this weekend, as two Xbox titles are up for grabs for anyone, no sub required.

From now through Sunday, May 31, you can play two games completely for free: Gears of War: Reloaded and High on Life 2.

Gears of War: Reloaded is a 2025 remaster of the classic 2006 Xbox and Epic Games third-person shooter that spawned a beloved franchise. Reloaded includes the original game as well as a bonus campaign, multiplayer stages, all DLCs, characters, and cosmetics—and it's completely free to play through May 31.

High on Life 2 is a more recent title, launching only a few months ago. This high-octane action skating FPS sends players out to fight their way through colorful stages in the name of humanity. Unlike Gears of War: Reloaded, High on Life 2 is only available to play for a five-hour trial until May 31.

If you are an Xbox Game Pass member, you can get access to two additional free titles through the end of the weekend. Members can race their way through time in Formula Legends, which takes race and car fans on a historic tour through different eras.

Finally, Game Pass subscribers can also check out Dying Light: Definitive Edition until Sunday. In this game, players are thrown into a city ravaged by a zombie epidemic. Scavenge during the day to craft weapons, then survive the onslaught of monsters at night. Can you live to see another dawn?

For even more free fun, Grinding Gear Games has made its hit ARPG, Path of Exile 2 free from May 29 through June 1. The game will be free to play for three days on PC, Epic, Steam, and Xbox to celebrate the release of their biggest update ever, Return of the Ancients. Plus, if you enjoy the game, it will be available at half price as soon as the free weekend ends.

Don't miss these epic offerings from Xbox, for a free weekend that has something to offer for everyone.
