It may not have received the same love as Grand Theft Auto Online over the years, but Red Dead Online still boasts a dedicated community and despite currently being in everybody's bad books for teasing us with that third Grand Theft Auto VI trailer, Rockstar is always on top of adding new and exciting content to the Red Dead Redemption 2 online mode.
Released back in 2018 alongside the launch of Red Dead Redemption 2, Red Dead Online allows players to make their very own outlaw and embark on a series of missions across the American Frontier. As such, you have to look the part and, although various events give players access to limited-time cosmetics, earning RDO$ is the most important part of gameplay, especially if you want to stand out amongst the rest.
Rockstar GamesWell, luckily, Rockstar is giving Red Dead Online players the chance to get their hands on some limited-time freebies throughout May and June thanks to its The Naturalist event. On the official Rockstar Games blog, the description of the event reads as follows: "Harriet Davenport needs all the help she can get sampling and classifying the rare wild animals of the five states. Meanwhile, Gus Macmillan wants those animals’ heads (and hides) on his wall."
Kicking off on 5 May, the event will allow players to earn 4x RDO$ by participating in "any rounds of the Wildlife Photographer or Wild Animal Kills Challenge Free Roam Events" up until 1 June. Additionally, completing a round of Wildlife Photographer will also bag you the blue Guerra Poncho. Last but not least, simply logging into Red Dead Online before 1 June will see you receive the black Rushword Shirt.
There are also heaps of other events taking place throughout the month, including the Animal Sighting Mission, which could see you earn the Chicken Emote, whilst bringing in prized hides by "Hunting or Sampling a Legendary Animal" results in the brown Clairborn Coat being added to your wardrobe.
There are plenty of ways to get your hands on limited-time cosmetics throughout The Naturalist event and although you may have missed out on some of the earlier drops if you have yet to log in, you can still get your hands on the black Morning Tail Coat which is available from 26 May to 1 June. To earn it, you must simply Sell 3 Samples. Additionally, simply checking out the Wheeler, Rawson & Co. Catalog will reveal that some cosmetics have made a return, including the Benbow Jacket, Carver Pants, Morning Tail Coat, Manteca Hat, and Salter Shoes. Put simply, if you miss some "limited-time" apparel in Red Dead Online, you only have to wait a few months for them to come around again. Top tip.
So there you have it. Look the most stylish as you cause chaos across the American Frontier in Red Dead Online before the current event ends on 1 June.
