Thomas Rhett Gushes Over Daughters & Wife Lauren Akins
Thomas Rhett is going through life changes.
Indeed, the country music star welcomed his fifth baby—a little boy named Brave Elijah Akins—with wife Lauren Akins, the couple confirmed.
“Welcome to the world Brave,” they wrote in a joint Feb. 27 Instagram post. “Oh. my. goodness. Our hearts are just in a big ole puddle with this precious baby BOY.”
“Brave Elijah Akins was born last week at almost 10 pounds and almost 2 weeks early,” they continued. “Thank you Jesus this big boy didn’t wait another 2 weeks to be born.”
In the carousel of photos, Thomas and Lauren—who are also parent to daughters Lillie Carolina, 4, Lennon Love, 6, Ada James, 8, and Willa Gray, 10—shared adorable snaps of their new little one, as well as intimate moments from his birth. In one photo, the “Die a Happy Man” hitmaker can be seen rubbing Lauren’s lower back as she sits in a hospital bed. In another black-and-white photo, Thomas, 35, placed a tender kiss on his wife’s forehead as she held the pair’s newborn.
And the dad of five also had a special role in the delivery room.
“Thomas Rhett was my biggest champion in labor & delivery,” the caption continued. “He helped deliver him, was the first one to see and *tearfully*, mixed with a bit of shock announce to us all in the room ‘It’s a BOY.’”
“We are so grateful God chose us to have YOU cutie pie,” they added. “Your four sisters are smitten and we are completely over the moon in love with you big Brave boy.”
Lauren, 36, and Thomas announced they were expecting their fifth baby together in August.

"Well, I was wrapping my head around being a dad," Thomas sang with a guitar in hand in the Aug. 26 Instagram video. "Big wrench got thrown in the plans that we thought we had. Now Lauren's showing—got one on the way."
"That's five under 10," the singer continued as he and Lauren stood by a fence together. "Hey, what can I say. Yeah, life changes. You wake up, ain't nothing the same. Yeah, life changes."
Alongside the news, the “Make Me Wanna” singer captioned the post, "Here we go again! We've got some really excited big sisters in our house. God is so good."
