The Pitt has become one of the most popular shows on TV in the last year, and although HBO had never released a medical drama before it premiered, the demand for more content from Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center is rising by the day. The Pitt returned with its second season almost exactly one year before the premiere of Season 1, and to ensure that this gap would remain relatively small moving into the future, HBO renewed The Pitt for a third season mere days before the Season 2 premiere. The Pitt Season 2 featured a time jump forward to the Fourth of July weekend, which opened the door to all potential types of fireworks and heat-related injuries. There are only a few episodes remaining in The Pitt Season 2, and fans everywhere are already asking questions about where the show will go in Season 3.
