After nearly a decade on TV, The Neighborhood is officially winding down with its home stretch of episodes. With just two months to go, the story of the unlikely friendship between Max Greenfield’s Dave Johnson and Cedric the Entertainer’s Calvin Butler is finally coming to an end, as the series finale has been set for an arrival on CBS on May 18. After well over 100 episodes, it’s been quite the journey for the long-running sitcom’s characters, who have seen their relationships grow by leaps and bounds over the last several seasons. In a few weeks, a new personality enters the mix when Anthony Anderson (Law & Order) steps in for his guest-starring role as Courtney’s (Skye Townsend) father, Clancy. Today, Collider is thrilled to unveil two first-look images at the upcoming episode, which is slated for a debut on Monday, March 30.

Titled “Welcome to the Things We Do for Love,” the episode's official logline reads:

“Marty meets Courtney’s intimidating father to ask for his blessing, but Clancy’s (Anthony Anderson) cryptic response sends Calvin and Tina digging for answers. Meanwhile, Gemma and Dave are stunned by Grover’s tattoo.”

The relationship between Marty (Marcel Spears) and Courtney has been heating up during the final season of The Neighborhood, following the arrival of their daughter, Daphne, back in Season 7. With the potential for wedding bells in their future, there’s just one more big hurdle for Marty to jump over when it comes to making Courtney his wife — the approval of her father. Our two exclusive first look images tease how the interaction between Marty and his hopeful father-in-law will go down. One captures the pair enjoying a meal out at a fine dining restaurant where Marty can be seen attempting to win Clancy over with his charm, while the other shot showcases the meeting between Marty’s father, Calvin (Cedric the Entertainer), and Clancy.
