While rampaging through viscera and fighting monstrous beasts, the Hulk has expanded his gamma family by one, and she’s just as colossally horrific. Marvel Comics may have a vast catalog of monstrosities, but the Hulk’s adopted daughter is one of the most grisly yet. The Green Goliath seems to have a knack for picking up bestial strays, especially those that howl to the moon.
Incredible Hulk #20 – written by Phillip Kennedy Johnson, with art by Danny Earls – is the first look at the Hulk’s young companion, Charlie Tidwell, after the development of her lycanthropic eldritch powers. Unlike Banner, Charlie’s natural human body possesses an incredible amount of strength and dexterity, as if it were a costume hiding the wolf inside.
Ironically, when in her new form, she is described as “wearing Lycana’s Skin.” The Hulk's "skinwalker" daughter is an absolute monster-movie terror. The Hulk may be Marvel's king of body horror, but Charlie Tidwell is the queen of the monsters of legend.

In her full feral form, Charlie commands her space well. She towers over all surrounding beasts, including the Werewolf by Night. Her snarling mouth is as large as an adult body, while a pair of jet-black feathered wings emerge from her densely muscular lycanthropic back. Even the Hulk is dwarfed by the sheer magnitude of Lycana’s Skin. While Charlie may not have the same appearance of living viscera that this series’ other enemies do, her strength remains unmatched. The Hulk certainly proves himself to be the strongest monster yet, but Charlie’s powerfully violent instincts cement her as a modern terror.

The Hulk has a bunch of notable and dangerous villains in Marvel Comics, but his all-time best one is woefully underutilized - and I can't believe it.
This, of course, is far more than just a wolflike form. Lycana was the daughter of the Eldest and granddaughter of the Mother of Horrors. When Charlie transforms, she wears the pelt of a god. Coursing through her blood is the taint of the God of the Skinwalkers, an eldritch power that predates most of modern civilization. With the Eldest now dead, Charlie remains as the most powerful monster of the Mother of Horrors’ monstrous lineage. Unfortunately, Lycana’s new vessel isn’t the only lycanthropic god prowling in the darkness.
Marvel's New The God Of The Skinwalkers Will Soon Face The God Of The Werewolves
Incredible Hulk Promises A "Battle Of The Blood Gods"
While Charlie Tidwell may be the God of the Skinwalkers, she will soon have to test her strength against the God of the Werewolves, Varcolac. In real-world mythologies, the vrykolakas are powerfully undead wolf-like creatures that absorb and are empowered by blood. As Incredible Hulk #20 teases, the next issue promises to be a “battle of the blood gods.” Lycana may be one of Earth’s oldest monsters, but Charlie is still so young. However, if there is anything that the Hulk and his family have proven to be capable of, slaying eldritch gods is their greatest power.
