EXCLUSIVE: We’ll be seeing more of “Tiff” and “Shaad” in the upcoming season of The Chi. Hannaha Hall, who portrays Tiffany (“Tiff”), and Jason Weaver, who plays Rashaad “Shaad” Marshall, have been promoted to series regulars for the eighth and final season of the series on Paramount+. They join series regulars Jacob Latimore, Birgundi Baker, Luke James, Shamon Brown Jr., and Michael V. Epps.

Production on Season 8 began earlier this month.

Hall has been with the series since the pilot, appearing in 62 episodes through Season 7. She plays Tiffany Bryant, a strong Black woman who balances motherhood, career ambitions and independence with authenticity and urgency while navigating love, loss and resilience. She is determined to achieve the trifecta — success, love and family.

Weaver joined the series in Season 4 and has appeared in 41 episodes through Season 7 as Rashaad “Shaad” Marshall. Shaad is unbothered, unapologetic and uncensored. Loyalty is what matters most to him and no matter the circumstance he has the spirit to survive. He’s one you can never count out.

The Chi, created by Lena Waithe, revolves around a group of residents on the South Side of Chicago who become linked by coincidence but bonded by the need for connection and redemption.

Waithe executive produces under her Hillman Grad banner alongside co-showrunners Justin Hillian of Hillianaire Productions and Jewel Coronel via Uncut Gems as well as Common, Aaron Kaplan of Kapital Entertainment, Rick Famuyiwa, Resheida Brady-Anderson, Derek Dudley and Shelby Stone of ID8 Multimedia as well as Naomi Funabashi, who oversees for Hillman Grad and Rishi Rajani, CEO of Hillman Grad. James Rogers III joins as executive producer. The Chi is produced by 20th Television.

Hall is repped by Gray Talent Group and 11:11 Entertainment. Weaver is repped by Formation Talent Agency, Artist Collective Entertainment, Crimson Media and Fox Rothschild.
