The next Splatoon game, Splatoon Raiders, is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 this July. Nintendo announced a release date for its spinoff on Tuesday, alongside a new trailer for the game that shows how the single-player-focused Splatoon game will work.

In Splatoon Raiders, players will go treasure hunting across the Spirhalite Islands while battling Salmonids, the aggressive sea creatures players face in Splatoon 2 and Splatoon 3's Salmon Run modes. Players take on the role of a mechanic working for the Deep Cut trio (Splatoon 3 stars Frye, Shiver, and Big Man) and build wild new creations. Based on Nintendo's latest Splatoon Raiders trailer, players will be constructing a wide variety of new gadgets and paint-throwing devices, including turrets and melee weapons.

Crafting and personalization look to be crucial to Splatoon Raiders. In addition to a customizable mechanic character, players will be able to equip a variety of tanks, weapons, gadgets, and relics that imbue special powers. It looks like players will be salvaging and gathering materials to construct some very DIY-looking machines.

Splatoon Raiders will be released on July 23, exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2. The same day, Nintendo will release a trio of new amiibo figures: Splatoon Raiders versions of Frye, Shiver, and Big Man. (That trio already were immortalized in amiibo form back in 2023 for the release of Splatoon 3.)

Nintendo announced Splatoon Raiders last June in a low-key way, through its then-new Nintendo Today app.
