Jeff Dodge (he/him), a published author and graduate of Western Washington University, has been a TV news editor for many years and has had the chance to interview multiple reality show stars, including Randy Jackson, Nick Cannon, Heidi Klum, Mel B and John Cena. Fun Fact: he’s been to every single Idol Live! Tour.
A new video reveals Sophie Turner and Kit Harington gagging after having to kiss each other while filming their upcoming horror film The Dreadful.
Turner and Harington played Sansa Stark and Jon Snow, respectively, on the hugely popular fantasy series Game of Thrones, which adapted George R.R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire novels and aired for eight seasons on HBO. Now the two stars are reuniting for The Dreadful, which will be released on February 20.
Both actors have talked about the awkwardness of having to kiss each other in The Dreadful, and now a clip of that exact moment has been released by Entertainment Tonight. The video shows Turner as Anne and Harington as Jago as they look lovingly into each other's eyes. Then they embrace and kiss.
After director Natasha Kermani yells out, "Cut!" Harington immediately pretends to gag, and Turner follows suit. The crew can then be heard laughing in the background.
ET also included a clip of Turner's recent appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers, during which she called the kissing scene "vile" because they played family members on Game of Thrones and are now love interests in The Dreadful, which takes place amid the War of the Roses in the 1400s. Check out Turner and Harington gagging on the set of The Dreadful below:
It was actually Turner's idea to cast Harington in the film. She sent her former Game of Thrones co-star the script, and he thought it would be weird to act in romantic scenes together. They eventually got over the shock, but that still didn't make those scenes any easier to film.
Turner plays a woman named Anne, who loses her husband in the war and begins a secret romance with Harington's character, Jago. Anne has to contend with her mother-in-law's controlling behavior and a mysterious curse. The film also stars Marcia Gay Harden, Laurence O'Fuarain, and Jonathan Howard.
Kermani, whose film credits include Lucky, V/H/S/8,5 and Abraham's Boys, directed The Dreadful and wrote the screenplay. Along with starring in the film, Turner also serves as an executive producer alongside Luke Daniels, Patrick Muldoon, Patrick Hibler, Greg Lauritano, James Herron, and Tim Wu.
After Game of Thrones ended in 2019, Turner went on to star in films like Dark Phoenix and Trust, and returned to the small screen for Survive, The Prince, The Staircase, Joan, and Steal. She's currently filming a TV show reboot of Tomb Raider for Prime Video.
Meanwhile, Harington's post-Game of Thrones credits include Marvel's Eternals, Baby Ruth, Blood for Dust, The Beast Within, The Family Plan 2, and Extrapolations. In 2024, he joined the cast of the critically acclaimed series Industry, which is currently airing on HBO. After parting ways following the Game of Thrones series finale, Turner and Harington are back together, this time on the big screen.
The Dreadful will be released in theaters and on digital platforms on February 20, 2026.
