In a recent interview, the Modern Family actress—who split from her husband, Joe Manganiello, in July 2023—revealed she’s manifesting a “boyfriend” or “lover” in the new year.
Sofía Vergara Reveals She’s Manifesting Love or “a Lover” After Justin Saliman Romance
Sofia Vergara may not have walked away from the 2025 Golden Globes with a trophy in hand, but she’s eyeing a bigger prize.
Asked what she has her sights set on in the new year, the actress—nominated for her work on the Netflix series Griselda—told Access Hollywood at the Jan. 5 event, “Health, money, a boyfriend. Or a lover, maybe.”
Perhaps someone who can fix a broken heart? In July 2023, the America's Got Talent judge announced her split from Joe Manganiello after seven years of marriage.
“My marriage broke up because my husband was younger,” she told Spanish newspaper El País in a 2024 interview three months before they finalized their divorce. “He wanted to have kids and I didn’t want to be an old mom. I feel it’s not fair to the baby. I respect whoever does it, but that’s not for me anymore.”
Since marriage’s end, Sofía’s tested her luck at the dating game, sparking romance rumors with orthopedic surgeon Justin Saliman in late 2023 after undergoing knee surgery.
“If u ever get major knee surgery make sure you get a handsome doctor who will sleep with u that night!!!!” she shared on her Instagram Stories in April 2024 with a picture of him holding onto her bandaged leg. “Luv u Dr @jdsaliman.”
Months later, the Chasing Papi actor shared photos of the pair on a romantic vacation to Italy in a June 2024 Instagram post captioned with a simple red heart.

Although Sofía never explicitly confirmed the breakup, she shared an update on her love life during an October 2024 interview with Us Weekly, when asked whether she still thought New York City was the best place to date.
“Totally,” she said. “Actually, I was talking about it because now I’m single. Kind of single.”
For now, anyways.
