Sofia Richie is saying hello to a stylish way of keeping her daughter Eloise occupied.
The 26-year-old—who welcomed her first baby with husband Elliot Grainge earlier this year—recently joked about the entertainment hack she discovered for their 7-month-old—and it involves some serious footwear.
Alongside a photo of her baby reaching for her studded white Alaïa ballet flats shared to Instagram Stories Dec. 26, Sofia captioned the cute snap with a checkmark emoji, “Wear shoes that keep your child entertained."
In the months since welcoming her first child, Sofia—who is the daughter of Lionel Richie and his ex-wife Diane Alexander—has shared glimpses into her new chapter of motherhood. In fact, Sofia explained how she's making sure to keep these precious memories close.
“It’s really good for me mentally to journal. And I actually found out I’m a scrapbook girl,” she told The Wall Street Journal in August. “I wrote everything down in a scrapbook for Eloise, just things I didn’t want to forget.”
But for Sofia, it's also all about the smaller moments, as she went on to share a glimpse into their everyday regime.
“I wake up around 6 a.m. and go see my daughter," she explained. "I have a little morning routine with her: We wake up, she eats, we have a bit of playtime before her first nap at 8.”
However, Sofia has also opened up about the complexity of her pregnancy and postpartum journey, including her experience with postpartum preeclampsia—which required a period of recovery while apart from her baby girl, leading to "mom guilt."
“I don't know why, from the second Eloise was born, I was like, 'I can't miss an awake time,'" she shared during an Oct. 15 episode of the She MD podcast. "I can't miss a moment. I don't want someone else taking care of my kid.'”
But nowadays, she's “finally feeling" like herself again.
“When my pregnancy was over, I was like, ‘I miss that,’” Sofia shared. “It’s such an intimate moment being able to share one space with your child that you never get back. Your kid comes out and you share your kid with everyone, which is magical, but that moment with your child is so special.”
