The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim is what I would call a forever game. Like Morrowind before it, it has withstood the test of time and continues to receive daily additions through modding and custom scenes. Plus, Bethesda isn't afraid to remaster it for pretty much any platform on Earth.

Over on X, Bethesda announced the reveal of Heart of the Mountain, showing that Skyrim can never really die.

Skyrim Online Multiplayer Team-1

Showcased by way of the official Bethesda X account for The Elder Scrolls, The Heart of the Mountain is out now, and is a "fully-voiced, story-focused" expansion that sports new biomes and a lot more. Crafted by DarthVitrial, it features nearly 70 unique quests, as well as 20 Radiant Quests, and an additional follower named Audrey with "over 800 lines of dialogue."

Here's the full rundown from the creator: "Team up with Audrey, a mysterious living doll, as you unravel the mysteries of the Void and learn the truth of the Old Lands. Take on almost 70 unique quests and 20 Radiant quests as you explore the Old Lands, and gain new weapons and gear sets, including the new Voskrona armor! In this new land, you will encounter new enemies and summonable creatures from the depths of the Void, such as Harrowing Reapers and Voidmothers, ancient Argonian foes such as Voriplasms and Voskrona, and many more."

To start the expansion, you'll need to enter the Twisted Root Cave near Karthspire, or read a note about it in the Silver-Blood inn. It's very easy to kick things off, and with full dialogue support, it'll feel like an expansion rather than a few quests linked together.

So far, fans are happy with the expansion itself, but some aren't keen on Bethesda supporting older games through creators' efforts. Lots of folks want to see another trailer for The Elder Scrolls 6, but it's possible that even Bethesda itself doesn't have a timeline for that.

Bethesda has been incredibly busy lately and has a lot of expectations to live up to, but at the very least, the creation community is doing a fantastic job of keeping the spirit of older games alive. That includes the Skyrim community, which is one of the most loyal fanbases in all gaming.
