Sharlene Whyte, Aran Murphy and Robbie Gee Join HBO Series ‘Youth’

EXCLUSIVE: Sharlene Whyte, Aran Murphy and Robbie Gee have joined Sharon Horgan in the HBO comedy series Youthfrom Horgan’s production banner Merman. Deadline first reported HBO was picking up the series last year after Horgan and her company signed a first look deal with HBO. Rupert Friend is also on board to star.

The series follows a 50-year-old divorcee’s search for sex and love whilst juggling caring for her ailing parents and parenting her should-be grown up son.

Youth is produced by Merman. Horgan stars in, writes, and executive produces the series. Additional executive producers are Faye Dorn (Merman), Jim Kleverweis, and Dawn Shadforth, who also will direct.

This marks a return to HBO for Horgan who created and executive produced the network’s 2016 comedy series Divorce, starring Sarah Jessica Parker, which ran for three seasons.

Whyte past credits include season two of Sherwood and Mr. Loverman. Murphy can be seen next in Klara and the Sun starring Jenna Ortega and Amy Adams. Gee’s other credits include Supacell and Paddington 2.

Whyte is represented by Kate Morrisson at B-Side Management. Murphy is represented internationally by The Lisa Richards Agency and David Weber/Sloane, Offer, Weber & Dern. Gee is represented by Jonathan Hall at Identity Agency Group.
