Selena Gomez and Timothee Chalamet to reunite for film two years after viral Taylor Swift gossiping moment involving Kylie Jenner

Selena Gomez and Timothee Chalamet are set to star in a film together two years after an awkward Golden Globes moment involving Kylie Jenner which led to the former gossiping about it with bestie Taylor Swift which became a viral moment.

Gomez, 33, and Chalamet, 30, are teaming up for alien-themed animated film Not Alone.

This is not the first time the two stars have worked together as they previously starred as love interests in Woody Allen film A Rainy Day In New York back in 2018. 

In the film Gomez will portray Fran who is described as a 'brilliant astro-botanist who is developing the world’s first-ever plant-fueled rocket.'

Meanwhile, in his animated film debut, Chalamet will voice Joe who is an 'introverted rocket mechanic who lives a quiet life alone.'

No doubt the film has major blockbuster potential as it comes from the studio Illumination which is behind massive franchises including Despicable Me and Super Mario Bros.

The film's synopsis reads: 'When Joe and Fran are brought together to prepare for the inaugural launch of this revolutionary rocket, there are immediate sparks, but neither is particularly adept at romance.

'Life becomes more complicated when three aliens — tiny, unruly and adorable — take refuge in Joe’s home. Dunk, Welly and Shirm are on the interplanetary run from a zealous-yet-inept officer of the law named Zandro. The aliens determine that Fran’s rocket could provide their means of getting back home to safety.'

Not Alone will be co-directed by Eric Guillon, Claire Dodgson, and Jonathan Del Val and is set for release on April 16, 2027.

The major film news comes two-and-a-half years after a viral video from the 2024 Golden Globe Awards captured Gomez and BFF Swift, now 36, gossiping about Chalamet and Jenner, now 28. 

Video from their table showed Gomez, Swift, and Miles Teller's wife Keleigh Sperry having an extremely animated discussion - with a somber Selena waxing lyrical to a shocked Taylor and Keleigh, before the latter is clearly heard clarifying: 'with Timothee?' as Selena nods.

At the time, forensic lipreader Jeremy Freeman exclusively uncovered the trio's conversation for DailyMail.com - alleging Selena was denied a photo with Timothee and claiming she feared 'upsetting' him and Kylie.

Freeman says Selena dished to Taylor and Keleigh: 'He didn’t want a picture with me, he said no' with Keleigh responding: 'Timothee?'

Taylor then whispered in Selena's ear, with the Only Murders In The Building actress allegedly saying: 'I tried, I couldn’t, it’ll upset em.'

Chalamet and Jenner have been dating since early 2023 and seem to be very serious as the make-up mogul joined the actor at several awards season events earlier this year.

However, in February 2023 Jenner was forced to clear the air and respond to a TikTok video where she was accused of mocking Gomez's eyebrows.

The Kylie Cosmetics mogul denied being shady towards Gomez and went as far as to shoot down any talk of a feud between herself and the actress and singer. 

In a comment underneath a TikTok clip by @devotedly.yours at the time, the mother of two began by writing, 'this is reaching. no shade towards selena ever and i didn't see her eyebrow posts!'

She went on to add 'u guys are making something out of nothing' in the post.

The Keeping Up With The Kardashians alum ended the comment by declaring 'this is silly.'

Jenner also seems to be cordial with Swift - despite the pop megastar's long-standing feud with Kim Kardashian - as they were seen hugging at a New York Knicks NBA Finals game earlier this month.
