David Schwimmer's ex-wife Zoe Buckman announces her engagement to millionaire surgeon - and he's a dead ringer for the Friends star

David Schwimmer's ex-wife Zoe Buckman is engaged.

The British artist, 40, announced she is to marry American orthopaedic surgeon Justin Saliman, 52, who bears a striking resemblance to the Friends star with his deep-set brown eyes and strong jaw.

Zoe, who was married to David, 59, for seven years until 2017, shared the happy news on Instagram on Tuesday with a series of loved-up snaps taken in her home country at the weekend.

'In a British countryside heatwave my boyfriend became my fiancé,' Zoe wrote. 'Meeting him was already prayers answered - now I don’t really know what to do with this level of gratitude!

'I feel so moved and honored and I promise to protect this promise forever. Thank you Justin for choosing me (no backsies— haha!). I love you down...'

One photo shows Justin, who previously dated Modern Family star Sofia Vergara, 53, on bended knee, holding the ring box.

The East London-born creative, whose work is exhibited at the National Portrait Gallery, London, went on to pay an emotional tribute to her late mum, Jennie Buckman.

Jennie, who was Head of Acting at the world-renowned Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) in London for 20 years, died in 2019, aged 69, following a nine-year battle with breast cancer.

'I know my mama is rested and happy knowing, somehow, that her daughter found you,' Zoe added.

The couple have been inundated with congratulatory messages from friends and fellow artists. Sky Sports presenter Olivia Wayne wrote: 'Huge mazel tov ❤️❤️❤️' in a nod to their mutual Jewish heritage.

It comes just over a decade after Zoe split from David, though the pair have remained very close and continue to co-parent their teenager, Cleo, 15.

She and Justin went public with their romance in May last year, when Zoe confirmed their relationship with romantic photos on Instagram.

Beverly Hills surgeon Justin was previously in a relationship with Sofia before they split in early 2025. They had been first linked in October 2023, after Sofia's divorce from Magic Mike actor Joe Manganiello.

Sofia confirmed her romance with Justin a few months later, when she posted a photo of him by her side as she recovered from knee surgery.

'If u ever get a [major] knee surgery make sure u Get a handsome doctor who will sleep with u that night… ! Luv u,' she captioned it.

Justin has also been married before. The surgeon, from Denver, Colorado, wed actress Bree Turner - best known as Rosalee on the fantasy drama Grimm - in 2008 at the Casa Del Mar hotel in Santa Monica.

The couple share two children, daughter Stella Jean and son Dean, before Turner filed for divorce in 2018 after a decade of marriage.

Justin is a Stanford-trained surgeon based at Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles. He founded Ceterix Orthopaedics and invented the NovoStitch Pro Meniscal Repair System, a device that helped earn him a fortune - his company was acquired by Smith & Nephew in 2019 for a reported $105 million.

Zoe and David began dating in 2007 after meeting in London, where she was working as a waitress at the Cuckoo Club and he was directing the Simon Pegg comedy Run, Fat Boy, Run. They married in 2010 and welcomed Cleo a year later.

The former couple have remained on famously good terms. In 2020, they marched together at a Black Lives Matter protest in New York, each carrying flowers, with Zoe resting her arm on David's shoulder among the crowd.

An acclaimed multidisciplinary artist, Zoe is known for her feminist sculptures and installations exploring identity, mortality and motherhood.

Among her best-known works are Every Curve, which sees rap lyrics embroidered onto vintage lingerie, and Present Life, featuring her own plastinated placenta encased in marble.

Born in Hackney, East London, she has exhibited at the National Portrait Gallery in London, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art and the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York.
