Scrubs season 10 will be a blend of the show's storied past while also folding in new characters and storylines, but the revival mustn't forget to revisit a key moment that was never actually shown onscreen. Although the core cast remained intact for almost all nine seasons of Scrubs, the softly rebooted final run (AKA Scrubs: Med School) shifted focus to a new batch of interns. Although showrunner Bill Lawrence has confirmed he wants to introduce new characters again in Scrubs season 10, the original cast will still be a huge part of the formula.

The Scrubs revival is looking to be an almost complete reunion of the beloved cast. Although the death of Sam Lloyd since the show's ending sadly means Ted the Lawyer will unfortunately not be returning, there is every chance the fan base could see appearances from every doctor in Scrubs who starred in the show's golden age, along with non-medical personnel such as Neil Flynn's Janitor. So, the stage will be perfectly set to finally recreate a Scrubs moment that never made the cut the first time around.

The Scrubs Revival Needs To Include A Flashback To JD & Elliot's Wedding

JD's fantasy montage in "My Finale" is the closest the show has come

Sitcoms quite often conclude with one of three milestones: a wedding, a baby, or the departure of a character. Scrubs season 8's perfect ending opted for the latter, with Zach Braff's Dr. John "JD" Dorian leaving Sacred Heart behind in an emotional two-part finale. Although Scrubs season 9 reveals that he and Elliot (Sarah Chalke) have finally tied the knot after years of indecision, the show completely wastes the opportunity to show their wedding. So, it's up to the Scrubs revival to make this happen.

Scrubs 10 must make this moment viewable in the show's "real world," otherwise the couple's will they/won't they storyline will always feel like it's missing a huge component.

The closest thing fans get when it comes to witnessing the Dorian-Reid wedding is JD's fantasy montage at the end of "My Finale." The sequence shows everything Braff's character hopes will happen in his future, including a short sequence showing JD and Elliot enjoying their wedding day. Why Scrubs' Original Run Never Showed The Dorian-Reid Wedding

Scrubs season 9 was the sitcom's last chance to do so (but it blew it)

JD and Elliot's relationship in Scrubs only became permanently romantic right near the end of Scrubs season 8, so there would have been very little time for them to get married without it being rushed or without some kind of time jump ahead of the finale. In this way, their happy ending is a little like Ross and Rachel's in Friends, only viewers actually saw Ross and Rachel get married once before during a drunken night in Las Vegas.

Is Zach Braff's Scrubs Character Based On A Real Person? The Real JD Explained

Dr. John "JD" Dorian is a fictional character, but Zach Braff's Scrubs persona was based on a real physician who actually existed outside the show.

Scrubs season 9 could technically have shown the Dorian-Reid wedding in a flashback, but the fact the show was moving on from the original cast and focusing on the new doctors meant it would have sent a little bit of a confusing message. Instead, viewers had to simply make do with the knowledge that the wedding had happened. However, they were also given the added bonus of JD and Elliot expecting a child. Regardless, it's not too late for the Scrubs revival to make up for this specific failing of the sitcom's original run.

The focus was on the interns in Med School and they only just got back together in time for the season 8 finale. I'll mention here that the closest we have is the little fantasy montage at the end of S8 that shows Elliot in a wedding dress.
