Samsung won’t unveil its first smart glasses until November, but now we know what they will look like — and how light they will be. They’ll come in a variety of styles and colors and weigh only 41 grams, according to a report from tech news outlet SammyGuru.
Samsung is expected to launch the smart glasses, possibly called Galaxy Glasses, next month. They will compete in the marketplace against Meta’s Ray-Bans and AI glasses from Apple, which reportedly won’t arrive until next year. XREAL reportedly will launch its Aura glasses sometime this fall.
In November, US customers can buy the Samsung smart glasses at the Warby Parker website and Gentle Monster website, and also at Samsung Experience Stores in the US. No prices have been announced, according to the report.
Samsung’s glasses will include six styles from South Korean eyewear brand Gentle Monster, which partnered with Huawei several years ago for audio smart glasses, and three styles from US brand Warby Parker, SammyGuru said.

Two of the Warby Parker styles, Alden and Wren, will include colors pine, dark green and reddish-brown Saddle. Reid is offered in Jet Black, the report said.
Only 41 grams in weight
The new Samsung smart glasses will weigh 41 grams with standard lenses, lighter than the 43 grams for the lightest Meta Ray-Ban model, according to the leak. They’ll include a Snapdragon AR1 Gen 1 chip, 2 GB of RAM, 64 GB of storage, a 12 MP camera, 3K video at 30 frames per second, two open-ear speakers and four microphones. The battery can last up to 9 hours or up to 72 hours if also using the charging case.
The glasses are similar to Meta Ray-Bans in that there is no visual display for text messages. You’ll compose them by speaking into the microphones and hear them via the speakers.

Users will need Galaxy S, Z Fold or Z Flip phones running One UI 9 or later to use Galaxy-specific features with the glasses. To use the watch features, users will need a Galaxy Watch running on Wear OS 7 or newer.
What can the glasses do?
Samsung’s smart glasses will use Google Gemini AI and run on the Android XR operating system. People wearing them will be able to perform various tasks with the AI, including taking pictures and videos, making calls and sending texts, translating, getting turn-by-turn navigation and listening to songs and podcasts.
Fast-growing market
The demand for smart glasses is rapidly growing worldwide. Sales in the US doubled over the past year, with global shipments topping 4.2 million, according to research firm Omdia. Another analysis estimates that the global market for smart glasses will grow by more than 24% yearly until 2033.
Smart glasses manufacturers are focusing on “hands-free photo and video capture, open-ear audio and AI assistance within everyday frames,” Omdia analyst Qiran Ju said in a recent report.
