Thor has really been through the wringer, especially in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. First, he had to be humbled; then he had to earn his title; then he wandered around until he found another purpose. Now he's coming back in Doomsday in some capacity, and will likely be humbled again, as the trailer shows off a pretty hardcore beatdown from Doom himself.

Before that happens, he'll be fully replaced in an upcoming project, and we'll see a completely different angle of the Mjölnir-wielding warrior. Thanks to YouTube, we officially know who Thor's replacement is this time around.

In early 2027, we're getting Thor (Jane Foster) as the next DLC character for Marvel Tokon Fighting Souls. She'll follow Phoenix Cyclops on November 2, and the intro video showcases a battle between her and Loki.

To celebrate, Arc System Works and publisher PlayStation just dropped a new story video that doesn't show off Jane's fighting style, but fully reveals her design, which fits the game perfectly. Jane Foster has been increasingly popular in recent years, showing up in various games like Uno Ultimate Marvel and Marvel Champions, as well as a starring role in 2022's Thor: Love and Thunder.

Here's the only info we have beyond the trailer: "As the Mighty Thor, Jane Foster wields the legendary Mjolnir and will unleashing the electrifying power of the God of Thunder upon the battlefield!" Expect more details to roll out in the next few months regarding Jane specifically.

That's not the only good news that the trailer showcased. At the very end, there's a full preview of the Year One Characters & Stage Pass, and there's going to be a ton of variety heading into 2027.

MARVEL Tokon Fighting Souls _ Year 1 DLC

There's good news beyond Jane Foster. Arc System Works has finally unveiled the full Year One Characters & Stage Pass lineup, and they're all pretty great picks. First up is Phoenix Cyclops on November 2, kicking off the first major post-launch release. Then in the Winter we get the aforementioned Jane Foster Thor.

In Spring 2027, there's Venom, accompanied by the Klyntar Stage (it seems the "Stage Pass" is literally one stage), while Jubilee rounds out the X-Men in Summer 2027. If all goes well and the game keeps up an audience, we'll likely see the announcement of a Year Two Pass sometime in mid-2027.

Even if this is it for the game, Marvel Tokon has had a decent run just in terms of character designs and visuals alone. They've put a ton of effort into the fighters and animations, but we'll see whether the general audience will stick around for the long haul.
