A stunning new survival horror game has been announced, and it seems like a delightful blend between Resident Evil and the instant classic P.T. demo for canceled Silent Hills. Within the horror genre, there are several different subgenres that offer players a variety of gameplay. However, survival horror games tend to be some of the most popular ones. The release of Resident Evil Requiem, for instance, proves how successful Capcom’s franchise has been over the years, even with changes – some of which haven’t pleased all fans.

Given the popularity and quality of these games, a lot of other titles have paid homage to them or have been heavily inspired by them. A new game called Undead Chronicles is like a mix between classic Resident Evil titles and P.T. Set to be released on Steam in the future, Undead Chronicles is a FPS survival horror game created by Seyfhouse Games. The title is set in 1923 Istanbul, and your journey will start within the Imperial Ottoman Bank.

Undead Chronicles Looks Extremely Terrifying

The Game Has Oppressing Horror Vibes

Gameplay in Undead Chronicles highlights a zombie behind a glass window.

Based on what can be seen from the promo material shared on Steam, Undead Chronicles looks terrifying, and that’s fantastic. Described as a “slow-burn” survival horror game, this new title will have you explore the aforementioned bank, entering vaults, cisterns, and moving through foggy streets, all while trying to survive the undead. As is the way of classic survival horror games, there is a very limited amount of resources at your disposal.

This means you can’t just power your way through waves of undead; every piece of ammo should be used mindfully. This adds to the tense environment created in Undead Chronicles. The game should feel even more unsettling due to how silent it is while you’re safe, and every sound represents a nearby threat.

Resident Evil Vibes Are Strong

Solve Puzzles & Learn The Lore Like In Classic RE Games

An enemy moves toward the player in Undead Chronicles.

The close quarters of the Imperial Ottoman Bank are highly reminiscent of the police station in Resident Evil 2, but the similarities don’t stop there. As was mentioned, your resources are scarce, so you don’t want to blast down undead, but try to make the best use out of your ammo. Another point of similarity is the puzzles you’ll need to solve, often requiring you to find keys in certain locations and observe the environment around you.

You’ll be able to open all drawers in the game, aside from those that are locked, to obtain items that may help you progress. There is also a heavy focus on lore, as you’ll be able to find photographs, letters, and other memorabilia from those who have passed on. This was one of the main lore elements of the older and scarier Resident Evil games, as well as P.T.

Undead Chronicles does not yet have a release window, as the developers are still working on making it come true. Even so, it is already a terrifying survival horror game based on what it intends to be, and you should definitely keep an eye out for it, especially if you enjoy titles like P.T. and, especially, classic Resident Evil games.
