There are just a few days to go until the launch of Resident Evil 9, otherwise known as Resident Evil Requiem, but according to a well-known insider, Resident Evil 10 is also underway and could release a lot sooner than we thought.

With the beloved Capcom horror franchise going from strength to strength and the new installment expected to be the best yet, it seems as though the future is looking bright for Resident Evil fans if this latest rumor is to be believed.

When Is Resident Evil 10 Coming?

According to insider DuskGolem, Resident Evil 10 will launch a lot sooner than we thought as a result of the delays that faced Resident Evil Requiem. This comes after one user asked about any potential DLC for Resident Evil Requiem, to which the insider replied, "Not confirmed officially no, but I've heard pretty reliably Resident Evil Requiem has DLC that's further along in development. RE9 got delayed in development a few times. Apocalypse was aiming for 2023, then Requiem was aiming for 2025, delayed to 2026. As such, the "gap" between RE9 and RE10 is a bit shorter than usual".

As such, presuming that Resident Evil 10 is not hindered by the same delays, DuskGolem believes that it could launch as early as 2029. However, at worst, it could be delayed to 2030 or even 2031.

In an alternate timeline, RE9 would've come out in 2025, and the DLC for it would've come out in 2026 to bridge the gap between RE9 & Code Veronica Remake/Zero Remake, similar to Shadows of Rose RE8 DLC for RE8. It's just due to RE9 getting delayed they'll be close together.

Resident Evil Requiem Is Up First

Nevertheless, there are just a few days to go until the launch of Resident Evil Requiem, which is expected to arrive on the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2 on 27 February. As the ninth main installment in Capcom's Resident Evil franchise, this one will see the beloved Leon Kennedy return to team up with brand-new protagonist Grace Ashcroft as the pair investigate the remains of Raccoon City.

With old features set to return, it is no wonder that Resident Evil Requiem is one of the most anticipated games of 2026, and luckily, we are almost at that release date. Now with the news that the series could be continuing as early as 2029, this is the perfect time to get stuck into it if you haven't already. Hey, only nine installments to catch up with is pretty easy, right?
