Reba McEntire, 71, reveals why she has yet to wed fiancé Rex Linn, 69... nearly two years after he popped the question

Reba McEntire shared an update on her upcoming wedding to her fiancé Rex Linn – 20 months after he popped the question.

'We're just waiting until we have an open spot to have the wedding,' the 71-year-old bride-to-be told E! News on Monday.

'Get it planned. Print those invitations.'

Their Happy's Place co-star Belissa Escobedo then added: '[They're] two of the busiest people. Always on a new job. Making new music.'

McEntire began dating her 69-year-old Sheldon co-star during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, but they originally met in 1991 on the set of NBC's four-quel flick The Gambler Returns: The Luck of the Draw.

Linn proposed to the flame-haired country crooner on December 24, 2024 during a stroll around the creek on her Tennessee ranch following a botched attempt weeks earlier at a luxurious safari in South Africa.

'We have a blast together. We work together, and we rehearse together. We carpool together. So, we're always together,' McEntire said.

'We love each other but we like each other. We have fun.'

The three-time Grammy winner continued: 'We love the same things. We love the country way of life, the western way of life. We love movies. We love television.'

McEntire and her 6-foot-4 leading man, who both graduated from college in Oklahoma, only disagree on one thing, thriller horror movies: 'I'm more like, "Happy. Everything's so sweet."'

The inseparable couple affectionately nicknamed themselves The Tots (Tater and Sugar).

McEntire's first marriage to much older rancher Charlie Battles ended in 1987 after 11 years of wedded bliss.

The Ring Ring singer welcomed her son Shelby Blackstock during her 26-year second marriage to her manager Narvel Blackstock, which ended in 2015.

This October, McEntire will become a grandmother as the 36-year-old B&R Developments principal's wife Rissa got pregnant with a baby boy following their second round of IVF.

Last Friday marked one year since the death of The Voice coach's stepson Brandon Blackstock, at age 48, from melanoma following his two-year divorce battle with second ex-wife Kelly Clarkson.

McEntire executive produces and stars as Knoxville bar owner Bobbie alongside Linn's cook Emmett in the third season of Kevin and Julie Abbott's sitcom Happy's Place, which premieres October 23 on NBC.

And last month, Apple renewed Jason Keller's golf comedy Stick, starring Owen Wilson, for a second season which will feature the Better Call Saul alum in a future recurring role.

The Daily Mail has reached out to McEntire's reps for comment but did not immediately hear back.
