In over three years at Collider, senior author Jake has now penned over 2500 articles covering a wide range of TV and film for the resources, lists, utilities, news, and interview teams. Alongside interviewing stars such as Selin Hizli, Rose Ayling-Ellis, Harlan Coben, and Chelsea Peretti, Jake was lucky enough to visit the set of Aardman and Netflix's Wallace and Gromit: A Vengeance Most Fowl in 2024, getting the chance to chat with four-time Academy Award winner Nick Park and Merlin Crossingham. Jake has also worked for other publications, including Agents of Fandom

The wait goes on for Reacher Season 4's release date. Set to adapt Lee Child's 13th Reacher novel, Gone Tomorrow, there have been suggestions that it may not be until 2027 for the return of Prime Video's most badass series. Fear not, Alan Ritchson fans, as a healthy dose of ass-kicking action is on its way in the meantime, courtesy of Netflix. Scheduled to release on the streamer on March 6, fans are already comparing Ritchson's next project to the Arnold Schwarzenegger classic, Predator.

Titled War Machine, this sci-fi action flick, fronted by Ritchson, is one of the most exciting Netflix releases of next month, and has already been described as the streamer's biggest movie ever. Directed by Patrick Hughes, who co-wrote the screenplay with James Beaufort, the movie features a star-studded cast alongside Ritchson, including the likes of Jai Courtney, Esai Morales, Stephan James, Keiynan Lonsdale, and Daniel Webber, as well as Hollywood veteran Dennis Quaid, who plays Sergeant Major Sheridan.

Ahead of the movie's release later this week, Collider is thrilled to bring you an exclusive image of Ritchson in military action as part of our ongoing Exclusive Spring Preview event. Buckled over clearly in scream-inducing pain, the image showcases Ritchson in a rare moment of vulnerability, promising that this is going to be far from a clear-cut victory for the big man. In a previous interview with Collider's Steve Weintraub, co-star Courtney teased, "I think that film is going to blow people away. It’s big. It’s a high concept," adding that "Alan [Ritchson]’s an absolute savage." Courtney continued:

"Pat [Patrick Hughes], I’ve been a fan of for a long time, and he’s become a good friend as well, and it was cool to go down there [to Victoria, Australia, where the film was shot]. What I really love about what he’s doing is he’s pulling these big, visionary action films into Australia and into the industry down there. I think it’s really healthy for the business down there, and it’s cool to see we have such world-class crews and locations."

For most, the promise of Ritchson leading a sci-fi action flick is enough to entice them. For those who need to know the plot to decide whether to dive headfirst into this streaming blockbuster, a synopsis for the movie reads, "During the final stage of US Army Ranger selection, an elite team's training exercise turns into a fight for survival against an unimaginable threat."

You can stream War Machine on Netflix this Friday, March 6, 2026. Make sure to stay tuned for more from Collider's exclusive Spring Preview Event.
