From director Guy Ritchie's hit new series Young Sherlock, based on the young adult thriller novel series by Andrew Lane, to the continued presence of the video game adaptation Fallout following its second season run, the Prime Video streaming charts currently play host to some of the hottest shows in the world. However, just a few days ago, animation fans had no recognition on the charts. That has now all changed with the hotly anticipated release of Invincible Season 4 this past Wednesday.

After two near-perfect seasons since it debuted in 2021, this superhero show based on Robert Kirkman's comic book series returned last year with Mark Grayson (Steven Yeun) facing his toughest test yet, neatly culminating in the introduction of the bloodthirsty Viltrumite Conquest (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and a global catastrophe set to change the course of the world forever. So the stage was set, and the promise of three episodes all debuting at once had anticipation through the roof. But could Invincible live up to the heights of its previous three seasons with this latest installment?

The answer is an undeniable yes, with the series arguably raising the bar once more. On review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes, Invincible Season 4 has earned a perfect 100% score from critics at the time of writing, with the consensus on the site reading, "Invincible enters its senior year with high marks in action, story, character, and adventure, still managing to make superheroes feel fresh and engaging." A synopsis for Season 4 reads:

"While the world recovers from the global catastrophe of last season, a changed Mark struggles with guilt as he fights to protect his home and the people he loves, setting him on a collision course with a powerful new threat that could alter the fate of humanity forever."

Nate Richard reviewed the fourth season of Invincible for Collider, awarding a strong 8/10 and saying the show "returns with a mighty gut punch." Richard concluded, "Overall, Invincible Season 4 is another mighty addition to Prime Video's animated adaptation of the popular comic series. It has all the exciting action and emotional beats you would expect while also venturing into some of the darkest territory this series has ever seen — and that's saying something."
