The announcement of Pokémon Winds and Waves as part of the 30th anniversary celebrations for the franchise was met with a lot of excitement from fans who had been waiting for confirmation of Generation 10 for more than a year.
Though we got a decent look at the game world and the starter Pokémon for the upcoming releases, there are still plenty of unanswered questions that fans have been speculating on ever since.
Everything from the name of the new region to the specific mechanics that may or may not be included are up for debate, with developer game freak keeping relatively quiet about the final details of their upcoming main series titles.
That said, there is one thing in particular that fans definitely want to see in this latest iteration of the game, and it's difficult to disagree with them.
Could Pokémon Winds & Waves Give Us A New Type Of Eevee?
Game FreakOver on Reddit, one user shared how the only thing that they are absolutely desperate to see from the new pair of games is a new Eeveelution. That is clearly a very popular opinion, as all the responses below quickly proved.
"A Dragon Eevee is the only one I want, since it would cover the last 'special' type since every other type is physical. I would also like an Eevee-like Pokémon that evolves into those physical types, but that's a different question," one comment read.
"I want a Ghost-type purely because how perfect the Dusk Stone is as a method makes me ticked off that they haven't done it," another added.
A third had a broader set of desires, saying, "I wonder if it would be too much if we got a regional variant for an Eevee here; one that could evolve into the more physically-inclined types we’re missing, like Rock, Fighting, Ground, Steel, Dragon, Bug, and Flying."
Whatever Game Freak does decide to do with the upcoming releases, there's no real reason that we couldn't see a new Eeveelution this time around.
It's Been 13 Years Since Sylveon
Game FreakIt would certainly be a long time coming if the developer does decide to pull the proverbial trigger, as it has somehow been 13 years since Sylveon debuted into the Pokédex.
It would also make sense for The Pokémon Company as a whole, as all of the Eeveelutions consistently register amongst the most popular and desirable creations of them all. With the potential popularity of Pokémon Winds and Waves clear, it could be the perfect launching point for the new 'mon to debut into the wider world of the games, TCG and animes.
