Whatever your favorite entry from the series happens to be, there's no doubt that Pokémon Diamond & Pearl are very solid entries that deserve all the plaudits they get. That said, they seem to be referenced in the wider product a lot less than other games from that time, generally speaking, and it's not exactly clear why that is.
That has already begun to change though, with Pokémon celebrating its 30th birthday as a franchise this year, and a ton of new releases coming down the pipeline that celebrate everything that came before. The latest of those has now been confirmed, and Diamond & Pearl are at the very center of it all.
Bandai Candy
Over on the Toy People website, Bandai Candy, the candy toy division of Japan's Bandai Co., Ltd., announced their latest run of products for Pokémon Scale World. If you haven't come across those before, the company has been producing them since 2019, and they are essentially a line of 1:20 scale Pokoemon and character figures.
Diamond & Pearl are at the center of it all this time around, with the Legendary 'mons from those games entering the fray. In confirming the news, the company shared the following insight into what fans can expect:
"This time, the spotlight returns to the Sinnoh Region, featuring two legendary Pokémon at the pinnacle of its mythology: 'POKÉMON SCALE WORLD Sinnoh Region Dialga' and 'POKÉMON SCALE WORLD Sinnoh Region Palkia'! Faithfully recreating their immense presence from the games, these figures arrive in impressive sizes, measuring 27 cm and 23 cm respectively, making a truly commanding display. Each figure meticulously sculpts their divine appearance and precisely reproduces the iconic colors and patterns that represent "time" and "space." These are absolute must-have ultimate collectibles for any Sinnoh Region fan!"
They do look pretty cool, and highly detailed to boot, and you'll definitely want to get your hands on them if you're already working on the collection as a whole. They're going on sale in Japan only for the time being, from October 2026, from 14,300 JPY (or around $90), though you will also have to pay import costs if you're based elsewhere.
We'll have to wait and see what other surprises The Pokémon Company has for us as part of the ongoing celebrations around the franchise's big birthday. Hopefully they give us plenty to do until the arrival of Pokémon: Winds & Waves, which is set to launch at some point in 2027.
