Assassin's Creed fans are in for a great weekend, since you have the chance to play six games in the long-running franchise for free. And we mean completely free, no Xbox Game Pass or other subscription service needed. The catch, though, is that as I'm writing this, you only have around 24 hours left to check out these free Assassin's Creed games, so you'll need to act fast.

The freebies are all a part of Xbox's Free Play Days, which kicked off on Thursday, April 2, and will run until Monday, April 6, 2026. During that time, you'll have the chance to play through five full Assassin's Creed games while having the chance to play through a free trial of a sixth title. It's a pretty sweet deal, so if you have an Xbox, definitely take advantage of this promotion.

Xbox Players Get Six Assassin's Creed Games For Free

The following Assassin's Creed games are all free to play for a limited time:

  • Assassin's Creed Valhalla
  • Assassin's Creed Unity
  • Assassin's Creed Odyssey
  • Assassin's Creed Origins
  • Assassin's Creed Syndicate

Additionally, you'll have a 2-hour trial of a sixth game, Assassin's Creed Mirage, that you can try out for free during the current Free Play Days period. Of course, at this point, you only have about a day left, so you may be split on which AC game to try out first, but we can help you out with that.

Which Assassin's Creed Game You Should Start With?

Realistically, you aren't going to have time to beat any of these games before they're no longer free if you're just now reading this. The good news, however, is that most of them are also discounted during this time, so if you're enjoying yourself, you can always grab the game without paying full price. Like Free Play Days, however, the discounts from Xbox are for a limited-time only.

While the trial for Assassin's Creed Mirage is enticing, we'd rather spend this time playing a full game. Assassin's Creed Origins is one of the best Assassin's Creed games ever, second only to maybe Assassin's Creed 2 (although Black Flag is pretty awesome as well). Assuming you haven't played any of these games yet, we'd recommend starting with Assassin's Creed Origins.

Of course, if you have played through some of these already, you'll want to start with whichever one(s) you haven't seen before. Really, you can't go wrong here. It's cool that this many Assassin's Creed games have been free this weekend, so if you've got an Xbox, be sure to give these a go.
