Red Dead Redemption 2 is considered a modern-day classic and joins the list of many other Rockstar Games' titles which deserve the same honor. Praised for its emotional storytelling, stunning open-world, endless content, and engaging gameplay, Red Dead Redemption 2 is still as loved today as it was back in 2018 when it was first released, so it is no wonder that fans are calling out for confirmation of yet another installment.

However, with Rockstar working hard on the final touches for Grand Theft Auto VI, it will not be until at least 2027 that we even hear about the Red Dead franchise, never mind if we can look forward to Red Dead Redemption 3. Luckily, there is a way to make that wait go a lot faster, and that is thanks to Bandit Hideouts.

Red Dead Redemption 2 Fans Are Keeping The Game Alive

Created by Gunter Severloh and crossed99 over on RDR2 Mods, Bandit Hideouts is a free-to-download mod for Red Dead Redemption 2 which aims to add heaps of brand-new content to the beloved game. Once downloaded, players can expect a whopping 143 new bandit hideouts, as well as 50 ambush points, a bandit posse on horseback who will chase you down, random roaming bandits, and more. As well as the chance of being attacked by bandits at any opportunity, you will also be able to hire up to nine gunmen at saloons, and even stand beside them to fight against zombies.

At the bandit hideouts, players will be able to clear out their settlements, but be aware that they are likely to call in reinforcements. However, it is worth remembering how much loot you will get at the end, so maybe the pros will outweigh the cons. On the official Bandit Hideouts mod page, you can discover all the bandit hideouts so you know whether to avoid them or head towards them.

Will There Ever Be A Red Dead Redemption 3?

As mentioned, Red Dead Redemption 3 has not yet been confirmed, or even hinted at by Rockstar itself. However, with the studio's latest project, Grand Theft Auto VI, set to wrap up in November, could this mean that it will turn its attention back to its other hit franchise? It remains to be seen, but it is also worth noting that Red Dead Redemption 2 is only eight years old, and may not be a priority for Rockstar, as much as we would like it to be.

However, that has not stopped fans from thinking about the future, and deciding on who they would like to see become our next protagonist in Red Dead Redemption 3. Could it be another prequel, shedding a light on the Van der Linde gang from a different perspective? Or could it belong to Sadie Adler, giving her the opportunity to share her own story? With many hoping that a brand-new protagonist will be introduced, I cannot help but agree. It is time for a new story, and another redemption after all.
