Paramount Taps Ted Lehman To Head Public Policy And Government Affairs

1 week ago 11

Paramount has named Ted Lehman as senior vice president and head of U.S. public policy and government affairs.

Lehman joins the company after the departure of DeDe Lea, the longtime head of global public policy and government relations. When Makan Delrahim was named chief legal officer in September, his responsibilities included oversight of Paramount’s government relations and lobbying team.

In a note to staffers, Delrahim said that Lehman wil lead Paramount’s D.C. office, “direct all aspects of Paramount’s U.S. public policy, and ensure we continue to be a proactive voice with U.S. lawmakers, regulators and other important stakeholders.” He will report to Delrahim, along with the international policy and government affairs team.

Lehman was previously at Todd Strategy Group, where he was a partner and advised media and technology clients. He had served as a strategic adviser to Paramount over the past few months.

Lehman previously served as chief of staff to Sen. Thom Tillis (R-SC); chief counsel on nominations for then-Senate Judiciary Committee chairman Chuck Grassley (R-IA); and counsel to the Judiciary Committee, among other experience. He clerked for Thomas F. Hogan, chief judge of the U.S. District Court in Washington, D.C.

Delrahim wrote, “His well-earned reputation stems from adopting a strategic and creative approach to complex problems – and always with professionalism, respect and integrity.”

Lehman will start in his post on Monday.
