Nicole Kidman Reveals How 2003 Oscar Win Changed Her Life
Nicole Kidman is bringing it back to the 1990s.
After all, the Practical Magic star put her curly hair on display in a rare photo on Instagram March 18, in a behind-the-back snap of herself and her pooch.
In the picture shared to social media, Nicole’s curls are the focal point as they’re tied into a top knot bun, with her dog snuggled into her shoulder. The 58-year-old—who shares daughters Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 15, with ex Keith Urban—added in the sweet slice of life moment, “Cuddles.”
But the au naturel look didn’t last long, as Nicole went back to her typical look in the following Instagram Story photo, as she sits on a plane looking out the window. The Babygirl actress teased some relaxing ahead, adding in a caption, “Spring Break.”
Nicole’s latest head-turning hairstyle comes nearly six months after she debuted bangs at Paris Fashion Week in October alongside her teenage daughters. That outing also came less than a week after it was confirmed she and Keith had filed for divorce.
During the sweet mother-daughter outing at Chanel’s Womenswear Spring/Summer 2026, Nicole let her bangs be the focal point, wearing a subtle white button up shirt with jeans and black heels.
And while her separation from Keith—to whom she was married for 19 years—has inspired some style experimentation, Nicole emphasized she’s going to maintain what’s good while starting a new chapter.
“I’m always going to be moving toward what’s good,” she told Variety earlier this month. "What I’m grateful for is my family and keeping them as is and moving forward. That’s that. Everything else I don’t discuss out of respect.”

Indeed, Nicole—who is also mom to Bella Cruise, 33, and Connor Cruise, 31, with ex Tom Cruise—noted that her and Keith’s relationship status has no impact on the closeness of their family.
“I’m staying in a place of, ‘We are a family,’” she noted, “and that’s what we’ll continue to be. My beautiful girls, my darlings, who are suddenly women.”
