During Summer Game Fest, Xbox offered plenty of updates on upcoming games and release dates in its dedicated showcase, painting a clearer picture of what to expect from Xbox Game Pass in the near future. Now, fans are taking a moment to look at the big picture of everything coming in 2026 and early 2027.
Reddit user Automatic_Ad1665 shared a grid of Xbox Game Pass titles releasing in the next eight months, and plenty of other fans are agreeing that the slate is "impressive." The image includes major exclusives like Gears of War: E-Day, Halo: Campaign Evolved, and Fable, highlighting the full list as follows:
-
Gears of War: E-Day
-
Halo: Campaign Evolved
-
Beast of Reincarnation
-
Resonance: A Plague Tale Story
-
Fable
-
Persona 4 Revival
-
Minecraft Dungeons 2
-
Stranger Than Heaven
Commenter Imaybetoooldforthis expresses vague incredulity at the lineup, sharing that they didn't expect "to play a new(ish with Halo) Halo, Gears, and Fable again in the space of a year." Dominjo555 considers the upcoming slate a continuation of a recent hot streak, calling the service "crazy good since like the Summer of 2024."
If anything, fans are a bit overwhelmed by how some of the schedule is panning out. NfinityBL highlights how busy next February will be, calling the adjoining releases of Fable and Persona 4 Revival "a war crime." This particular bit of scheduling is the result of a recent delay for Fable, likely to give Xbox more room to schedule around the looming release of Grand Theft Auto 6.
The one bit of relevant criticism comes from fans like SloppyMeathole and still_mute, who would prefer to see new IPs instead of remakes and entries in long-running franchises. Beast of Reincarnation could be promising in this regard, as it's a totally new property from Pokémon developer Game Freak. Stranger Than Heaven, a loose prequel to the Yakuza series, is also at least close to qualifying.
No matter how you break it down, Xbox Game Pass subscribers will have plenty of options to choose from in the coming months. While the Xbox brand attempts to reinvent itself, the strong lineup of upcoming games should provide a solid foundation for its future.
